The Quarterdeck Cottage is the perfect place to unwind, explore, and relax. This spacious cottage comfortably accommodates up to six people for a group vacation or family getaway. Walk, hike, or kayak right from your door and enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the sand and rock beach. The space There is ample private space in each bedroom for sleeping and relaxing, as well as a central space where your whole group can gather to cook, eat, reconnect.. The Master bedroom is complete with ensuite bath, sitting area, and small private balcony overlooking the water. The lower bedroom has a queen bed, ensuite bath, sitting area, and a small covered private balcony overlooking the water. Finally, the loft bedroom has a Double bed, and a small private, elevated balcony. The three bedrooms are connected by a central staircase to the upper level great room, kitchen, and elevated deck. The great room has a fantastic panoramic view of water and fields, where the group can play games, watch movies, and share stories. The chef's kitchen is fully equipped and large enough for several cooks and helpers. There are indoor and outdoor dining tables that both seat six. Other things to note Antigonish Harbour is a protected estuary where you can kayak, sail, or canoe in protected waters--you can access all this from your door. Prepare for spectacular sunsets as you barbeque on the private deck and watch the herons feed at the water's edge. Kayaks are available free for guest use. We are 15 minutes from the town of Antigonish, where you will find St. Francis Xavier University, well-stocked stores, and an assortment of restaurants.. For those seeking more beach time, you will find several beaches close by: rugged Dunn's Beach (30 min walk), 2 miles of sandy beach at Pomquet Provincial Park (10 minute drive), Mahoney's Beach (30 min). Keppoch Mountain, a recreational site for biking, hiking, disc golf, and winter sports is 25 minutes away. Lobster season here is May and June. The wharf is just down the road.
