The space Nôrs Lodge is our home and we are delighted to share our guest wing with you so that you can make the most of this wonderful part of the country. Location >>>> Nôrs is up a very quiet but easily accessible lane which is not a through road so with limited traffic. When you arrive, there is plenty of off-road parking space, and a separate private entrance to the guest wing. Cleaning >>>> With Covid, thankfully now in the rear mirror, we are acutely aware of the need for cleanliness for our guests. We think you will be impressed by the high quality of the property presentation. Airy & Open >>>> The guest wing has plenty of glass frontage, so the space has a light and airy feel. Access is through French doors to a small hallway, off which is the bedroom and kitchen/diner. Layout >>>> Please note this listing is just for the guest wing - See the floor plan in the pictures for the detailed layout of this listing. Hallway >>>> the entrance hallway has a glass French door entrance, with lush linen curtains to give you privacy. There is plenty of hook and floor space for all your outdoor clothing! Bedroom (en suite) >>>> The guest wing has one large bedroom with a luxurious king size bed with memory foam mattress; built in wardrobe; calm colours; wafty linen curtains with venetian blinds too; and super comfy armchairs to relax in or watch the large screen smart TV. There is an en suite shower, basin/vanity and loo to create a very tranquil and private sleeping space. There is a full length mirror with hairdryer and accessible plug points. Kitchen/diner >>>> the kitchen is well equipped and has a table and chairs for two guests. There is a counter height fridge (sorry no freezer), a contemporary Smeg induction hob and matching stainless steel oven, a separate microwave oven, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine (original type capsules). There is crockery, cutlery and glassware for four guests, and a basin/drainer with spray hose tap, and ample worktop. There is plenty of space in the kitchen to store supplies for your stay, and for your convenience we provide some basic cooking supplies to prevent you having to bring with you (oil, salt, pepper, and a few dry ingredients); there is a great shop and separate deli in the village to get further supplies, or several supermarkets within a short drive. There is a Miele washing machine in the kitchen too, but sorry, no dryer. We provide a fold-away drying rack instead. Extra Loo >>>> Off the kitchen there is a separate and separate WC/wash basin. PLEASE NOTE: There is no separate living room in the guest wing. There are two super comfy armchairs in the bedroom to relax in, and of course the table and chairs in the kitchen. Outside >>>> there is a sweet little front garden enclosed by a wonderful copper beach hedge. There is a cafe table and chairs for four just outside for those all-important sunny breakfasts or evening drinks. We provide a small charcoal kettle BBQ with tools and a small supply of charcoal. (Access to the main back garden is just for the owners and guests in the main house, and as such the back access door to the guest wing remains closed except in emergencies). General Facilities >>>> we provide one set of linen for the bed, bath/hand towels, and separate beach towels (in the summer). If the duration of your stay is longer then arrangements can be made for a linen change mid-stay for a modest extra charge. Eco Power>>>>>>> For the colder times of year, there is underfloor heating in all rooms which works off an air-source heat exchange system, controlled with a Nest digital system. This is backed up by solar and a smart hot water storage system. The guest wing can be made beautifully cosy in the winter months or airy in the warmer months. Our eco credentials are very strong - we do not burn fossil fuels; electricity only. (Note: there is a fan and a space heater in bedroom to top up or reduce temperatures instantly). Entertainment tech>>>>>> Fibre broadband with Wifi is provided and there is a separate booster for the guest wing to ensure a strong signal. There is a 43 inch (110cm) smart TV with swivel rack to allow you to watch from bed or from the comfy chairs. The fibre broadband will allow you to use your own devices for entertainment or access your subscription services over the smart TV. Accessibility >>>> Whilst the house and guest wing were not designed specifically with wheelchair access in mind, wheelchair guests are very welcome. But to avoid any doubt, there is a sloped non-step access available from the driveway but with pea gravel topping for which assistance maybe required. The entrance door into the guest wing has a single step, for which again assistance maybe required. Indoors, there are 2 cm threshold sills on the floor between the rooms. Door handles are set normal height but there are no extra handles in the bathroom/loo. Summary of amenities: Cookware & kitchen utensils, integrated hob/grill/oven, microwave oven, freestanding fridge (no freezer or icebox), blender mixer, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker (bring your own small capsules), some basic grocery supplies, 4 x crockery/cutlery/glassware, washing machine, vacuum cleaner (by request), iron & ironing board (by request), one bedroom with en suite, king size bed with memory foam mattress, shower (no bathtub), WC & wash basin, bath towels & linen, toilet paper & soap, hangers, wardrobe space, beach towels (in summer), free WiFi Internet, smoke detector, underfloor heating, space heater, table fan, front garden with lawn & paving, outdoor table & chairs (for four people), outdoor lighting, charcoal kettle BBQ (by request), free off-street parking Exclusions & Alerts: * Electricity meter for whole property is in the guest wing; owner will require access in event of power failure * Some cupboard space in hallway and kitchen retained for use by owner - this is marked * No baby facilities - bring own cot, hi-chair, safety gates, changing mats etc * No tumble dryer – but airer rack is provided * No smoking at all please!! * No pets in guest wing except by prior arrangement with owner and subject to extra cleaning charge (if agreed, then pet must remain in kitchenette and hallway; specifically NOT in bedroom at all please!) * Owner and maybe other guests are likely to be in the main house during your stay – interconnecting door will remain blocked. Expect other cars/people around in front driveway area * During longer stays, owner may request brief access for cleaning and replenishment of supplies Guest access You will have the Guest Wing to yourself, although it is likely that either the owner or other guests may be in the adjacent main house. The parking area is ample for several cars. The back garden is restricted to those in the main house, and the front lawn area is shared although not in heavy use by owners. The side patio area with cafe table and chairs is reserved for the occupants of the guest wing. Other things to note Our guest's satisfaction is very important to us, but we are also mindful of peace and quiet for our neighbours. We request that parties are not held at the property and that loud music outside or through open windows is avoided. Thank you in advance.
