Description
*Note: Dinner and breakfast can be added as paid options. Anabuki-tei is located in Takamatsu, Kagawa. The two-story building, surrounded by an 888m² garden with a castle tower, offers complete privacy and tranquility. Built in 1970 as the home of Natsuji Anabuki, the founder of a major construction company, it was converted into a hotel in 2022. Now run by his grandson Eitaro, it combines family history with luxurious hospitality. The space Japanese Garden Upon entering through the stately gate, you will find yourself in a beautiful Japanese garden with a majestic pine tree. The garden features a stone lantern made of Aji stone, one of Japan’s three major granites, along with exquisitely positioned natural landscaping stones and a century-old pine tree. Guests can enjoy the changing view throughout the day, from the quiet of the sunlit garden in the morning to the evening shadows and illuminations at night. Living-Dining Room Cross the garden and enter the house. From the entrance, you will see a spacious living-dining room with south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the garden. Sit back in beautifully crafted Scandinavian furniture and admire the traditional Japanese garden with a stately pine tree. At night, sit around the wood-burning stove in the corner of the dining room and relish the special atmosphere of comfort and coziness. Anabukitei’s only Japanese room is located on the east side of the house. The fusion of traditional “Wa” taste and Scandinavian design emanates a sense of comfort and well-being. Bedrooms and Library On the second floor is the private space featuring five bedrooms around a centrally positioned library. The library contains a collection of art and books by artists associated with Kagawa Prefecture. If you go out on the terrace, you will see the garden from a different perspective to downstairs and get a glimpse of the city of Takamatsu beyond. The terrace is a great place to relax over a morning cup of coffee. Scandinavian Furniture Anabukitei is furnished with Scandinavian furniture. Due to the short daylight hours in northern Europe, people spend many hours at home, where furniture radiates a special sense of coziness. Materials that project natural warmth and designs that create pleasant space - these principles underlying Scandinavian furniture harmonize with the values of Anabukitei. Japanese culture shares the Scandinavian appreciation of wood. Wood blends wonderfully with Japanese-style living space. Surrounded by Scandinavian furniture, you will be able to relax and unwind naturally. Outdoor Spa Designed with meticulous attention to facilities and lighting, the outdoor spa can be used at any hour of the day or night. It features a mini kitchen where you can make your favorite drink to enjoy while you soak. The spa can also be converted into a cold tub. Finnish Sauna Lit only by a lantern, the dim Nordic-style sauna is a place where you will forget time. Put a log in the sauna stove and relax in the soft, soothing heat that warms your body to the core. Splash water over the sauna stones which are made of Kagawa’s prestigious Aji stone and soak in steam full of negative ions.
