Large Guest Bungalow - your own foothills retreat
This spacious bungalow evokes a remote retreat while only two miles from downtown Nevada City. Situated within a one-acre manicured garden, it features a sleeping area with a comfy queen bed to one side and a sitting area with a sleeper sofa and smart TV to the other side, all below a high ceiling with four skylights. A great jumping off point to explore the Gold Country or to cocoon in the Sierra foothills. It feels miles from civilization, yet this woodsy house in the hills is only two miles to charming downtown Nevada City. The lower Banner Mountain neighborhood, also known as Banner Crest, is located on the border between Grass Valley and Nevada City; prestigious Banner Mountain features some of the most interesting and elegant homes in the area. Though cars are necessary to get around in this part of Nevada County, there is a public transportation option: the bungalow is a half-mile up the hill from the #1 and #4 city bus lines (Nevada County Connects) to Grass Valley and/or Nevada City. This area is ideal for mountain biking as well. Cable TV on a 43" Samsung smart TV includes HBO and Showtime, plus easy access to your Netflix and other accounts. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, toaster, and electric kettle. You'll have everything needed to prepare coffee, tea, and cereal, plus you’ll find bottled water and refreshments in the refrigerator. There is no stove or cooktop. A heavy curtain separates the toilet/shower area from the rest of the bungalow. The bathroom can't be seen into from the central part of the studio, and there is a ventilating fan in this room as well. There is no bathroom sink; the nearby kitchen sink doubles as a bathroom sink. Just a few steps from the bungalow, a larger, full bathroom is available, featuring a separate, private entrance. No third-party bookings; the reservation must be made by the party staying in the bungalow. There are no steps to get into the bungalow; however, the unit itself is not completely level, as there is one step up into the bathroom. Note that house rules include the need for all guests to view a short YouTube video in advance of arrival, as it features crucial tips for locating the difficult-to-find driveway. Because many GPS systems cannot locate the driveway, this video is an all-important tool for a stress-free check-in. Standard property maintenance (gardeners, repairs, and so on) occasionally takes place on weekdays and can be noisy. Motion sensor lights illuminate paths across the property for evening arrivals. A powerful generator keeps electricity flowing seamlessly to the bungalow during outages. Luggage drop-off is OK, but pls make arrangements in advance so that doors and gates will be unlocked for you.
