Foxi Manna, at the foot of the beautiful Mount Cartucceddu, is a kilometer of fine white sand, with a shallow seabed, ideal for children. The beach is never crowded even in high season. From June to September, you can rent umbrellas, deckchairs, dinghies, paddle boats and canoes! The Aleri nuraghe, the main one of numerous nuraghes, dominates its bay. Foxi Murdegu, has light, thin sand bordered by pebbles, mixed with gravel and a shallow seabed. The two coastal 'gems' are separated by a promontory surmounted by the tower of San Giovanni built at the beginning of the 18th century to spot enemies, then transformed into a bunker in World War II. In addition to the beaches, Tertenia it offers culture lovers the museum, dedicated to the artistic story of Albino Manca, which houses his donation of bronzes, marbles, clays, medals, paintings, silvers and waxes. Manca was born in Tertenia in 1898 and grew up there, in 1938 he left Rome and emigrated to New York, settling in Greenwich Village, the artists' district. He demonstrated his talent by winning the competition for the East Coast War Memorial, with the gigantic bronze eagle of Battery Park, on the extreme tip of Manhattan. A small bronze model of the same eagle, a gift from the artist, adorns the square of Tertenia. Albino Manca died in New York in 1976, his body rests in Tertenia.
