Situated on 9 acres of secure property 150 meters away from the beach, the Lime Garden Inn offers its guests a rare combination of privacy, space, and self-catering facilities with direct access to the best activities that Zanzibar has to offer. The space Our house is tucked away in a botanists’ dream; our extensive garden is home to lime trees, frangipani, bougainvillea, crotons, neem and mango trees, hibiscus, papaya, palms—royal, coconut, and finger palms—and aloe vera, to name a few. If you’re lucky, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the Sykes monkeys and small, colorful lizards that live on site. Both the ocean-facing apartment (Bahari) and the garden-facing apartment (Kisiwa) were constructed with our guests’ comfort in mind. Both brand-new, wifi-equipped apartments are spacious, and include (2) double, ensuite bedrooms, AC, an in-room safe, a mosquito net, and large, comfortable beds with high quality bedding. Both units are equipped with a fully furnished (coconut wood) living room, which has a large shared balcony. In the Bahari apartment, one of the bedrooms has an ocean-facing, private balcony. Both units also have a kitchenette, which is equippeted with a cooker, oven, fridge, kettle, utensils, and essential items. Not in the mood to cook? We are happy to arrange lunch and dinner through our private, on-site chef at your convenience. We understand the importance of the little things that might be a hassle to travel with, and have equipped both kitchens with tea, coffee, a kettle, sugar, olive oil, ice, salt, and pepper. Your bathrooms are equipped with basic toiletries; shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In addition to the brand-new, completely self-sufficient apartments, we invite our guests to make use of the new, underground pool—with a depth ranging from .6 to 1.8 meters, a small children’s pool, and surrounded by lounge chairs—our Barbque Banda—outdoor dining area, self-service bar, a BBQ, and a wood-fired pizza oven—the kid’s jungle-gym, and the Tree House Lounge with a sea view, which we have found to be the perfect nook for reading, having coffee or cocktails.
