Witzenberg Base Camp, to rejuvenate mind and soul

Witzenberg Base Camp is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, located on our lifestyle farm 4.5 km from Tulbagh. The camp was built with 100% recycled materials and is equipped with 12 volt solar lighting system, WIFI, USB port and on demand gas geyser. There are no plugins for electrical appliances. Kick back in peace and tranquility, surrounded by the sounds of nature and panoramic views of the magnificent Tulbagh valley. Please note the new NO PETS policy. The space The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped for self catering with a portable wood braai, 2 burner gas hotplate and a 12 volt, 47 L cooler. Basic amenities such as braai wood, fire lighters, tea, coffee, rusks, sugar, artificial creamer, salt, pepper, dish soap, olive oil and essential toiletries are provided. We supply 18 pieces of Braai wood for a 2 night stay, if you want an endless ambience camp fire, you must supply your own wood for that purpose. The unique and private 3 piece bathroom has a rain shower with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. Have a deep soak and star gaze with a glass of wine in the outdoor antique cast iron bath tub before enjoying a peaceful nights sleep on a queen size bed with quality linens and cozy duvet. Extra blankets are provided. Guest access Guests have the entire camp to themselves and are welcome to stroll around the farm and surrounding areas. There is a lovely over sized hammock to easily setup and transform the outdoor kitchen into a lazy lounge area sheltered from the wind and sun. Please be aware, our 4 beautiful, well behaved dogs enjoy visiting, but will leave on command if you feel the need. Adult gatherings of up to six people are very welcome but no overnight stays or noise past 11 pm please. Other things to note Please follow the written directions to our farm which you have access to after your booking is confirmed. GPS and maps can be misleading but, we are easy to find. If you plan to self-cater, the local SPAR closes at 7 pm, and is extremely busy ancrowded on any given weekend. Just a kind reminder of the NO PETS policy. Our four dogs, will greet you with barking and wagging tails upon your arrival, and are very friendly. Remember you are off the grid so on cloudy, overcast days loss of power may be a concern if energy is not conserved. However we do have back up sources. Guests please be aware that the kitchen, lounge and bathroom are exposed to the outdoors, so adverse weather conditions may affect your stay.
