Nestled in beautiful Tasman, just minutes from the tranquil Kina Beach, this contemporary cottage offers a serene, private retreat. Designed with a refined, minimalist aesthetic, the space exudes calm and understated elegance. Wake to birdsong, savour slow mornings with coffee in the sun, and unwind in peaceful surroundings after a day exploring local beaches, wineries, and cycling trails. We welcome pets, children and infants, ensuring a comfortable stay for the whole family. The space The cottage is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It features a private outdoor area, comfortable beds, a well-appointed bathroom, and a separate laundry with dryer. The spacious kitchen opens onto a generously sized deck overlooking white lilies and grapefruit trees, creating a peaceful, green outlook. There is also a cosy living area and an indoor dining space for relaxed evenings. With Tasman’s typically sunny, mild climate, guests often enjoy dining on the deck and making the most of the tranquil garden setting. A secure area beside the cottage is available for storing bikes. Tasman is well known as a biker’s paradise, offering a wide range of scenic rides as well as easy access to more challenging bike parks. The Great Taste Trail runs directly opposite the property, making this a true bike-in, bike-out accommodation option. The nearby Spooners Tunnel — the longest decommissioned rail tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere — is also part of the trail network. Other popular local experiences include exploring the Rawhiti Caves, salmon fishing and visiting freshwater springs near Tākaka, archery with personalised tuition in Marahau, and tandem paragliding with qualified instructors, offering spectacular views across three national parks. The cottage is approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Nelson, 5–7 minutes from Mapua, and 10 minutes from Motueka. Several supermarkets and grocery stores are within a 10–20 minute drive. The local Tasman General Store is just a 3-minute walk away and offers basic supplies, along with excellent coffee and baking. Guest access The cottage is accessed via a shared driveway with our home, where my daughter and I live. You’ll drive past our house on arrival, and there is dedicated parking beside the cottage for your convenience. Although our home is nearby, the cottage is positioned to maintain your privacy, with its own outdoor space and outlook. You may occasionally see us on our side of the property, but we’re mindful of guests’ space and keep a low profile. Other things to note We warmly welcome pets — including more than one. If you’re planning to bring your furry companions, please tell us a little about them when you book. We kindly ask that you bring your own pet bedding and blankets to help keep the space comfortable for everyone. Feeding and water bowls are provided.
