Clean and comfortable is our highest goal and this cabin will not disappoint. Two twin beds in 1 br and a full and a twin in the other br. Sofa has a pull out twin bed. Full kitchen. Small convenience store on site sells Hunt Brothers pizza, deli sandwiches, bait, gas, ice, beer, etc. Owners live on the property and strive to make sure your stay is perfect. We hunt, fish, hike, golf, mountain bike, kayak, and boat. Our decades of experience will help you plan your next adventure. Fish Island Resort is a nice community of ten cabins, convenience store, and the owner's house. Our property joins Lake Barkley State Park and is just across the street from Barkley Lake. During summer pool the lake is up enough to put a kayak in the creek on our property and float to the lake just a few yards away. State park boat ramp just over a mile away is really nice with great parking. If you need a fishing guide let us know. We work closely with local guides who we have confidence in. You will have the run of the cabin, the public areas including ample parking for boats, trailers, etc., and since we join state park property you can leave from your cabin and enjoy a nice hike in the woods. The state park encompasses 3,700 acres and it's right outside the door! Just five miles away is the 170,000 acres of Land Between the Lakes. This spectacular section of land is home to all kinds of wildlife and outdoor activities. Everything from 1850's working farms to planetariums, to off roading and horse back riding. Well over fifty miles of single track mountain biking, well over a hundred miles of gravel riding, and spectacular road rides make this area one of the premiere destinations for cyclists. New this season is the extended hardwoods paved hiking/biking trail. Leave from the cabin and just a short trip down the state park road lands you on this new trail through Land Between the Lakes, across the Barkley Lake bridge, right past Golden Pond Planetarium, the Trace, and the North South trail, then across the Kentucky Lake bridge to Aurora. The hiking and biking is absolutely spectacular here! Tony and Karen are the owners and live on site. They are very available to help or answer questions. Tony is always up to date on the fishing report. We know this area and these lakes. Whatever your outdoor activity please let us know if we can help you make it a great vacation. We are outdoor people and chances are we have some experience and local knowledge that can help you. We're located at Lake Barkley State Park. Our property joins the 200 acres of park property. Just across the bridge, about five minutes away is Land Between the Lakes national recreation area. It's 170,000 acres set aside for outdoor adventure. Just across the street from the cabin is Barkley Lake. The possibilities are endless. Hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, kayaking, 1800's Homeplace, Nature Station, Planetarium at Golden Pond, Elk and Bison Prarie, all just across the bridge! Bringing your car, SUV, or Jeep is best. If you are a cyclist the beauty of road riding and mountain biking in LBL awaits. Miles and miles of great roads and trails. Motorcycles are also a great option. We've been riding for decades and know the best roads. Walking the new bridges over Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake is becoming a very popular activity. Public transportation is practically non existent. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN THE CABIN. Smoking allowed outdoors on the property. If your cabin smells like smoke when you leave there will be a $250 cleaning fee. Pets are allowed with a 25.00 fee. Pets must be under control and cleaned up after both inside and outside the cabins. You will still be responsible for any damages the pet causes. If your pet has fleas do not bring it. If we find fleas after you leave a $350 extermination fee will be added.
