Self contained part of charming thatched cottage in this attractive South Oxfordshire village, between Didcot (2.5 miles) and Wallingford (3.5 miles). The accommodation has its own entrance, sitting room - with inglenook fireplace (only use electric fire provided) - and steep, winding stairs leading to the large bedroom with vaulted ceiling and superking bed. Guests will have sole use of the adjoining bathroom. Period features also include low beams, but rule out a shower. Not for children. The space Although there is no kitchen, there is a small fridge, kettle and toaster in the sitting room. Orange juice, cereals, yogurts, bread, butter and jam / marmalade are provided for self service breakfasts. There is a small TV in the sitting room. Guest access It is a self contained part of an old cottage having its own entrance leading into a sitting room, with bedroom and bathroom above - up a steep narrow staircase. As this is a very old cottage there are low beams, and nooks and cranies. Other things to note Walnut Tree Cottage dates from the 17th Century and has low ceilings and a steep staircase, which adds to its charm! There is a very good pub, The Crown, less than 5 minutes walk away. It serves good food and is very popular with our guests, but check opening times on its website. Closed Tuesdays.
