Full storage and cooking facilities in our heated glamper's kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining facilities . Stroll down our wellness walk through fields and forest. The space Welcome to Glasson Glamping farm, based on our family farm here at Tonagh House, Glasson Athlone in the centre of Irelands Hidden Heartlands. We are the sixth generation of Elliotts to farm the lands here at Tonagh House. Here at Tonagh, we have always tried to farm commercially but in an environmentally sensitive and holistic manner. This will become obvious the moment you enter our farm. Our fields are green and bountiful, home mostly to cattle. However our fields remain small and bounded by ecologically diverse sprawling hedgerows interspersed with mature oak, ash and sycamore trees. These hedgerows provide safe wildlife corridors for the hares, rabbits pheasants and many other species seen regularly in our fields. Many visitors to our farm have commented on how peaceful and secluded our farmland is. Having brought our own family glamping a few times in recent years to their great enjoyment we decided to share our farms peace and tranquillity for others to enjoy . Also we feel our experience of visiting other glamping sites has helped us provide facilities that are second to none .Our site is located in a large old enclosed garden with stunning lake views. Being enclosed means our site is particularly suited to families, as all facilities are within the boundary of the old garden and farmyard so parents can relax in the knowledge that smaller children cannot stray too far. We are proud to have no steps anywhere to accommodate the young and the less agile. A unique part of developing our Glampsite involved the construction of a “wellness walk” which is a 1.5km securely fenced path through 100 acres of our farm. You will wander by groups of contented grazing cattle on one side and forestry on the other. Depending on the time of day you are likely to see swans floating majestically along the Tonagh River and hares frolicking in the pastures, not to mention the many wild birds that frequent the quiet stillness. Due to its remote location there are neither houses nor roads visible from the path, which makes for a tranquil stroll or even a quick jog for those who wish for a quicker pace. Facilities We have lovingly modernised an old farm shed to accommodate heated flush toilets and luxurious gas heated individual shower rooms right at the edge of the enclosed garden glampsite. Glamper’s Kitchen A fully functioning built in kitchen in our centrally heated main building with ample space for large groups to wine and dine with their own provisions. Farm fresh eggs available daily. Outdoor living We have oudoor under cover cooking and washup facilities In the form of barbeque, woodfired pizza oven and stainless steel prep/wash up area with hot water. Outdoor dining/relaxing Adjacent to the main building and outdoor cooking with tranquil lake view is our glass roofed open sided dining/chill out area. Featuring comfy furniture it is located in an evening sun trap. Your enjoyment is our priority. We have designed our facilities with this in mind, drawing on our own experiences of camping/glamping in other places. Guest access Guess have access to fully equipped barbeque area, kitchen, outdoor seating, camp fire, gaming shed which includes pooltable and table tennis. Guest are also welcome to go for a walk along the walking track called The Wellness Walk.
