A rustic guest suite in the lower level of a log home. This open floor design features live edge tables, a large, 75” screen tv with internet based channels, great wifi & an amazing view of the mountains & sunrises right outside your door! Your private deck has comfortable seating & a hot tub provided for your comfort. A grill & fire pit along with charcoal & wood is provided! *hosts live upstairs-we will honor quiet hours of 11pm-7am. This lower level unit has its own patio & hot tub with beautiful views of the mountains and Daniel Boone National Forest. The inside has been decorated to remind you of the outdoors & the beauty of the Red River Gorge. Guests have the guest suite to themselves. If they need assistance, owners live in main house just above them. We are very available to help meet the needs of our guests. We love to help make your vacation great but are also very conscientious of your privacy. Let us know your level of interaction desired! We are off a state highway up on a mountain but close to town! You will find gas stations, grocery store, small town shopping & restaurants within 5 miles of this property! Due to the rural mountain location, it is best to have a vehicle. No special type is necessary. We hope you will find Rock Ridge Retreat to be a happy & peaceful place that you will long to return to, time & time again! We have a gravel circle driveway. When arriving please use entrance across from mailbox. When departing please exit using the drive by the shed. Hot Tub - please help us keep our hottub clean by showering off after hiking or outdoor activity before entering! Controls are inside the tub. Please place hot tub cover on patio to keep debris out of hot tub. Be sure to cover it back up once not in use! Hot tub warnings are listed in pictures. Please bring your own pool towels. There is a grill for your use on the patio. You will find a yellow bin beside it with charcoal, lighter fluid & a lighter as well as extra firewood for the firepit. Firepit - please keep screen on unless you are roasting hotdogs / marshmallows. Be sure the fire is fully extinguished before heading into the guest suite. Please remove fire pit cover & place on hook by hot tub. If you need roasting sticks let us know! The guest suite does not have a separate heating / air unit. Since it is in the basement it stays cooler. Please feel free to use the electric fireplace to keep the suite at the best temperature for your stay! We do ask you to turn the fireplace off if you leave the suite. This unit is in the walkout basement. There is a sup pump to pump the water out of the unit so if you hear a noise while using the water that is what it is! Key to unit is on fireplace along with fireplace remote. We leave some treats for all of our guests! You will find Crabtree’s Candies on the tray, ale 8 - local ginger ale soda in the fridge & during your stay a loaf of homemade bread will be delivered with butter & locally made jams! Beginning November 1, 2023 security cameras will be activated for entrance, parking & exit areas. No cameras will be located near guests outside space / entrance.
