For a coastal experience, Alnmouth Beach (13 miles) is a gorgeous sandy stretch with a friendly village nearby to stop off to explore the shops, cafes and restaurants. Situated on the ground floor, the living room is a cosy and welcoming space, with a wood-burning stove for winter warmth set into a large inglenook fireplace, comfortable two and three-seater sofas, and rustic oak beams across the ceiling. There is also a dining table in the living space to serve up meals prepared in the kitchen. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first a tasteful double with a sloping ceiling and ample storage, and the second a single, perfect for a child.
