SELFOSS IS FAR AWAY FROM ERUPTION AREA AND IS A SAFE PLACE :) Cozy, spacious and fully equipped apartment only a 50 km drive from Reykjavík. Perfect location to explore all major attractions of South Iceland. Supermarket, swimming pool with hot tubs and sauna and lots of great restaurants and stores close by, as well as a pharmacy and a hospital. Very beautiful centrum with shops qnd restaurants close by. You can enjoy everything that South Iceland has to offer while feeling at home. Free wifi and parking. The apartment is 75 sqm and very spacious. You have the whole apartment to yourself. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher machine, fridge, freezer, toaster, egg boiler, water boiler, coffee machine, mixer, pots and pans and more. Coffee, tea, oil, spices, sugar and such, is provided for free. The bigger bedroom has a king size bed (180 cm), made up with 2 duvets and 2 pillows. There is also an empty wardrobe with extra pillows in the bedroom. The smaller bedroom has a small double bed (150 cm) which can fit 2 people. The bathroom is between the bedrooms. It has a shower. You get to use shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toilet paper, cotton pads, q-tips and plenty of clean towels for free. There is also a hairdryer for you to use. The laundry room is spacious with a washing machine, a dryer, a drying rack and a sink. You get to use washing powder for free. There is also door where you can enter the backyard. The living room is big with a comfy sofa and a TV. There is also a dining table. In the living room is a door to enter the backyard. The backyard is spacious, closed off, south-facing garden where you can enjoy the sun all day and watch the northern lights at night. There is a private entrance to the apartment and private parking in front of the apartment. Children welcome. Travel baby crib and a high chair can be provided for free if needed. It is not allowed to smoke inside the apartment, but you can smoke outside. The apartment was recently renovated so everything is brand new. I will be away on holidays during the time when my home is rented out but my daughter-in-law, Linda, will take care of my page, be in contact with you and help you with information. Linda has a long experience of hosting on airbnb, and has been a superhost. She does her very best to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable. She will answer all of your questions. She used to work in the southeast of Iceland so she knows South Iceland particularly well :) You can arrive anytime you want, as she will give you the code of the key lock box in front of the house and be in touch with you. You have access to the whole apartment. You can check yourself in with a key box on front door. The kitchen is fully equipped, with free coffee and tea, oil and spices. There is a dishwasher machine in the kitchen. You can use the washing machine and drying machine in the laundry room, as well as washing powder. In the bathroom you have plenty of clean towels, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, cotton pads, q-tips and a hair dryer. Linda will be in touch with you through the page. She is very friendly and loves to give information about Iceland and assist you, so you can always contact her (she'll be taking care of my page) and she'll be happy to help. She knows the area and South Iceland very well so she can give lots of recommendations. The neighborhood is very quiet, beautiful walking paths and close to the main street with a lot of shops, coffee houses etc. The swimming pool with sauna, hot tubs and gym is close by. A shop that is open until 11:30 pm everyday is only a few minute walk away. Most things in Selfoss are within walking distance. You can also take the bus to get around (the bus stop is close to the apartment), or use a car. I would recommend renting a car during your time in Iceland, it's really worth it! Selfoss is a great place to explore the northern lights as it is so close to isolated areas. They can even be seen inside the town and are regularly seen in the backyard.
