Lovely old Transylvanian cottage, room 1

We offer you a big private room (Stube). The house is a property of our family since 1841. Visitors are staying in the old part of the house, which is located at the front side of the house with a view to the main street (Strada Principala). More images you can find on @colligere1841 on IG. The bedroom (Stube) is suitable for maximum of​ 4 guests. For instance: 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids. The space You'll enjoy the tranquillity of our space. Unique is the lifestyle of this village, the air you are breathing, the sky, the free walking animals on the street, the time that passes slow(er) here than everywhere else. The only 'noise' you'll hear is of the bells from the cows, ducks, dogs or horses. Also, you will hear some cars and tractors from the farmers. Each day imore than 100 cows leaving Viscri village in the early morning hours and returning at about 8pm back to Viscri. Each evening at 9 pm it is an event for visitors to witness the returning of the cows, goats and horses. Very unique is also the sky! Don't just look down to the streets but at night look up to the sky when you are in Viscri provided the sky is free of clouds you will see a stunning sky covered full of stars. You won't see this in a city. In case you aren't familiar with birds, you will hear a lot of birds. Depending on the day time, at night you hear for instance the night-active Waldkauz (brown owl). NOTE: Elena (our housekeeper living next door) can provide you with a breakfast for 50 RON, lunch for 100 RON, Dinner for 100 RON. All prices are per person and to be paid in cash to her. If you want to make use of her offer, I ask you to tell me or her in advance for minimum of 2 days. Guest access Guests can use a private bathroom, with toilette, bathtub and a big sink. Towels are provided. The big kitchen is well equipped which is a shared room too for all the people who live at our house. The terrace in the courtyard is a shared space for all of us to hang out and dine and wine together. Also since July 2021 we have a big terrace behind the Barn with an amazing view to our orchard and the big gardens behind it. There we can provide you hangmats. Ask Claudiu or me, Johann, if they aren't in place of the terrace. See pictures of that new feature on the gallery. ------------------------ If you book in July and August, I am most of the time present on the property and help you. Otherwise, I won't be there and my neighbours Elena and Claudiu will help you. Claudiu can help you to use the BBQ in the small barn. Just let him know. When I am not present, either Elena or Claudiu will welcome you and give you the keys and shows you your rooms. Communication should be best in Romanian or Italian. The big kitchen, the courtyard and the terrace will be the space where we can chat and have a drink if you like. I am happy to help you out with all the questions you have about Deutsch-Weisskirch/Viscri. During your stay If you book in July and August, I am most of the time present on the property and help you. Otherwise, I won't be there and my neighbours Elena and Claudiu will help you. But you need to speak Romanian. Please note: Elena can provide you with breakfast for 50 RON, lunch for 100 RON, Dinner for 100 RON. This is an optional offer. The food will be brought to our house. If you want to make use of her offer, I ask you to tell her in advance for 2 days! Claudiu can also help you to use the BBQ in the small barn. Just let him know. If you don't speak Romanian or Italian, I am sure you'll find a way of communication. The big kitchen, the courtyard and the terrace will be the space where we can chat and have a drink if you like. Other things to note IMPORTANT FOR HEATING: The heating works only with wood. One needs to check constantly how much wood is burned in order to keep the fire going. The fire will eventually go out if you don't put more wood into the oven. This procedure can be hard if one isn't used to this kind of heaters. Our janitor Claudiu can assist you and help you with the fire if you would allow him to enter that room once you checked-in. Obviously we do not wish that there is an accident with fire. Please, talk to him about this. Have a look at the foto to see how the old fashion heater looks like. IMPORTANT FOR USING THE BATHROOM: The hot water boiler can NOT fill the entire bath tub to have a bath. The boiler has simply not the capacity. -------------------------------------------- For guests who arrive with their car: There is a parking place just outside of Viscri (exit to Bodendorf/Bunest) specially created for tourists. You are kindly asked to park your car either at that parking place or in our courtyard. The inhabitants of Viscri wish the street free of cars. This way the original image of the village remains in its old way, just as Viscri got on the list of UNESCO.
