Description

Indigenous Homestay is local house in Mù Cang Chải, Yên Bái where my family of six people live. We have decided to open our house to help travellers learning more about the daily life of Hmong people, an ethnic minority mostly living in the north of Vietnam. When you arrive here you will not only enjoy the ravishing beauty of rice terrace fields but also see the real life, culture, culinary specialties, folklore, traditional costume, and activities of natives in this region. The space Six people live in this house, including my parents, old brother, sister-in-law, and two nephews. They speak the Hmong language, a little Vietnamese, but not English. They mostly use body language to communicate with guests then if necessary I am a phone call away. The home has three main areas and a separate kitchen. Because this is a traditional house, there is no facilities such as fridge, washing machine, or a modern bed, so when you come here you will learn how to live like a local. My family will show you how to do daily activities like grind the grains by the millstone to make special cakes, cook, wash your clothes. When you arrive, the family will welcome you with a glass of special rice wine and you will sleep in the guest's bedroom, which has enough space for four guests. If you like to experience indigenous culture and explore a new lifestyle then come to this beautiful place and you will forget the amenities you are used to! Guest access We don't discriminate against anyone here, the rules here are equality for everybody and love each other, so you will quickly feel like a member of my family. You can do all the activities in the house, you can use the kitchen to cook, wash your clothes, feed the animals like water buffalo, pigs, and chickens. If you like to explore the culture, costumes, festivals, and daily life of Hmong people then here is good place to you to stay and experience everything we do. During your stay The people in my house don't speak English except me, and I am studying at university in Hanoi far from my home. They will use their body language to communicate with you, or call me to help if needed. Travelling is about experiencing new places and learning to communicate even if you don’t share a language with people, and I believe that all things here will give you valuable experiences.
