Forget Me Not cottage is set in reputedly the highest village in Scotland it is a remote village nestled in the Lowther Hills yet only 20 minutes from M74 ; A perfect overnight stop over or base for travelling into Dumfires and Galloway or into The Borders. Pets are always welcome. This cottage will be perfect for people who are active and want to get away from it all, or just enjoy driving along empty scenic roads. The cottage is a 5 minute walk to The Houpton Arms Hotel and village shop Pets are welcome This area is world famous for Gold Panning, walking on Southern Upland way, Ski-ing, Playing Golf on highest Golf course in Scotland. It is situated on a favourite motorcycling and cycling route along the Mennock Pass. There is a Museum of Lead MIning at Wanlockhead and a Mining Railway. The whole cottage apart from one store room The front garden is not enclosed and is used for parking for cottage I will be available on occasion when needed, alternatively there will be a neighbour on hand and a key safe for entry. There is a local Houpton Hotel that serves food every evening only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. A local shop open 7 days a week. Surrounded by The Lowther Hills where there is plenty of walking, mountain biking and Gold Panning opportunities. Leadhills also has the highest Golf course in Scotland. It has an old railway still in use from the mining days and the Mining museum which has tours of mines and cottages is just 2 miles away at Wanlockhead. Also The Southern Upland Way passes through wanlockhead On a bus route to Lanark, Edinburgh, Dumfries, Thornhill and Sanquar main lines To train stations also only 20 minutes from M74 J14. The cottage is heated by a multi fuel stove,this heats up the water and radiators once it has got to temperature. There is a back up oil fired radiator, logs,kindling and coal will be provided
