Description
Welcome to our lovely, traditional Lakeland end terrace house in Ulverston, a market town with a big heart. Ours is an historic house, the birth place of Norman William Birkett one of the Nuremberg Trial judges. Tea/coffee and 2nd floor double bedroom. Sole use of bath/separate shower on 1st floor. We are in a quiet residential area, close to town and walks to Hoad Hill. We are a relaxed couple who enjoy meeting new people and we share our house with our friendly border collie dog, Holly. The space Spacious double bedroom on the second floor (top of the house so two flights of stairs) with wifi access, work space , room to hang your clothes, amazing views and tea and coffee making facilities. We do have some of our items in the room, hope you don't mind sharing with books and cds. Ulverston is a lovely, small and quirky town known for many things, .the start of the Cumbrian Way a few hundred metres away in The Gill .its many festivals throughout the year (Comedy, Dickensian, Retro, Lantern, Flag etc) . birthplace of Norman Birkett (our house), .birthplace of Stan Laurel, a bronze statue of Laurel and Hardy stands outside the Coronation Hall), . a museum to Stan and Ollie. .a lighthouse on Hoad (a hill) in memory of Sir John Barrow.... you'll see it coming into town from the A590, .Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre which attracts visitors from around the world. .Art Deco cinema, The Roxy .many walks from the doorstep Guest access Your double room is at the top of the house with sole access while you're here to the main bathroom with bath, toilet, sink and separate shower. During your stay We live in the property so will be around to help if you have any queries. A contact number will be supplied when booking. Other things to note Be aware that your bedroom is on the second floor and the bathroom is on the first floor.
