It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Casa Girasol, set in the semi-rural outskirts of the Monteverde area! The clouds and sun dance over the distant hillsides and our organic garden, presenting you with an ever changing vista. We strive to weave together the comfort of a home away from home and the thrill of easy access to discovering the tropical wonders of cloud forest and Costa Rican culture! The space We offer Casa Girasol as the heart and soul of our Airbnb journey! You can also check out the reviews in the profile for the other two houses that we offered in the past if you would like a longer history of our 12 years of receiving guests. Casa Girasol was hand-crafted with care and creativity across the road from our family home. We are always happy to share the story of our agroecological transformation of the property, or just leave you in peace to relax or embrace the many awaiting adventures in the zone. We hope that you enjoy the tranquility of our little neighborhood just outside of town and revel in its rich natural and cultural diversity. We find our souls lift and hearts sing every time we drink in the view of the pastoral setting! Your closest neighbours are the organic broccoli, taro root, bananas and coffee plants in our gardens, though you have a collection of Costa Rican family homes fairly nearby as well. If you forget your alarm clock, don't fret! The chorus of neighbourly roosters will give you a wake-up call at the perfect moment for a birding walk or a cup of coffee on one of the balconies. We anticipate you may well find yourself marvelling at the balcony birding opportunities. If you are interested in human interaction, you are welcome to visit with us as we live quite close by. Beth originally came from Canada to teach at one of the small, bilingual, alternative schools and found her ¨heart home¨ here in Monteverde. One of her greatest joys is time in the garden and is always thrilled to share her process. Manolo was born nearby, and is always interested in chatting about how he has seen the área change and how life has been as he dances through a life full of cultural challenges. You will hopefully automatically enjoy his background in construction but feel free to ask about his other passion as a naturalist guide. Our 2 children are inevitably a product of our bicultural existance and weave artfully between both languages and cultures. Our 22 year old son, Amaro, is now studying carpentry on Vancouver Island with dreams of one day building a house on a little property he purchased just a little ways from here. Nati at 26 has just finished her Creative Writing and Illustration degree in England, and is back home on this fine, green mountain top that we call home as she organizes herself for the next adventurous step in life. All in all, we are passionate about sharing our love for our community and the magic of our natural setting as well as making sure you feel at home in our home! Casa Girasol is completely furnished with the major appliances, hot water, internet access and the extra bonus of artistic features like hand-crafted furniture, hardwood floors, and local artwork. We hope you will find all you need but always invite our guests to reach out with any queries or desires. Guest access You are welcome to wander the garden or coffee grove--but all the better, we would be happy to wander with you and answer any questions. We are more than happy to share the garden produce whenever we have enough, and will bring it to your door! There are always herbs to share, and sometimes more! Other things to note We have been Airbnb-ing our houses for a good while now, but we always welcome any suggestions as to what might be missing or make our guests all the more comfortable. Please note that the second floor allow for 4 people to sleep, but in the same open-concept space. Also, please bring inside shoes or slippers if you do not want to be in sock or bare feet on the upstairs wood floors.
