Beautiful Coastal Inspired Apt. 30min from Ottawa

Welcome to Hideaway Haven! Located in Embrun, ON., just 30 min from downtown Ottawa & 1hr 30min to Montreal. This private basement apartment in our home is perfect for a short getaway or longer stays as it's outfitted with a full kitchen & washer/dryer. Two queen beds (one is a pull-out sofa) & a pack n’ play available (upon request), to accommodate a family of 5. A private courtyard w/ dining table for guests to use is available during the summer months (open from June to September)! The space Upon arrival, you’ll be led through a walkway, greeted by Gail the Snail, which will lead you to a private courtyard (open late May-Sept.) where you’ll find the private entrance to the Hideaway. Checking in late- no problem, you won’t be disturbing us! Our key-less entry makes self-check-in a breeze for any arrival time. Upon entering, you will be welcomed to your own private vestibule, which leads to the stairs to the unit. The fully equipped kitchen is outfitted with beautiful quartz countertops, a granite sink & the perfect little breakfast/ coffee bar where snacks will surely satisfy the hungry traveler! The desk is great for work, but also transforms into a dining table, doubling in size! Need some mint for your mojitos or basil for your sandwich? Herbs in the courtyard planters are to share with our guests during the summer- just grab some! The calming bedroom has a queen bed which is outfitted with a memory foam mattress & luxurious bed linens from Hotel Le Germain, made of a super soft woven blend of Egyptian cotton & bamboo rayon. A closet & dresser will keep your clothes organized. The pull-out sofa bed is a step above the rest, with a quality solid construction & memory-foam mattress, you’ll be sure to get a good-nights sleep! The same luxurious linens are also provided as we understand a good sleep is important. A light breakfast is provided at the breakfast bar; fresh fruits, flavors of Quaker Instant Oatmeal, cereal, tea /coffee, milk & cream. Enough to get you started for the first few days! Our large washroom is equipped with a washer & dryer, to use at your convenience (laundry detergent & dryer sheets provided). While there is only a shower (no tub), our handheld shower head will make it easier for kids. While the apartment is located in the lower level of our home (basement), you’ll be happy to know the majority of the unit has soundproofing insulation, reducing noise drastically, making it a much more comfortable stay! Please note that it does not cut the noise completely however. We are located only 30 min to Ottawa but Embrun offers all the essential amenities you’ll need. A grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shops and many restaurants are all within a 5 minutes drive. Traveling with kids? Let us know and we can provide a few extras to make your trip a bit more enjoyable. Pack-n-play, highchair, changing table and baby bath (25 lb max) are available upon request. Please note that no blankets are provided for the pack-n-play, due to strangulation/ suffocation hazard for babies. The pack-n-play comes with a removable 2” foam mattress, a mattress protector & fitted sheets. Guest access The apartment has a private walk-way & entrance, and is a self-contained unit. You have private access to the outdoor courtyard, specifically designated for our guests. If you are here for a longer stay, we will need to access this space from time to time (as a pass-through) to water the plants, get the lawnmower to the backyard, etc. We will do our best to do this when you are not occupying the space. Other things to note The apartment is located in the basement of our home. While it doesn't look/ feel like a basement, it can run a bit on the cooler side. We do try to limit the a/c when guests are here for their comfort. The bedroom and main living area of the apartment has soundproofing insulation in the ceilings to limit the noise from the main floor of the house. The bedroom wall adjacent to our side also has sound proofing insulation, helping reduce noise. While the soundproofing helps greatly to reduce sound, it is not completely sound-proofed, and to note that we do have a child upstairs. For stays 28 days +, toiletries & consumables listed will be provided enough to last you a week, to get you started. After that, you will be responsible for supplying your own.
