The space Welcome to Sunset Shores Retreat, a stunning waterfront cottage nestled on 3 acres in a secluded bay on Lake Huron. You'll feel like you're worlds away from the city as soon as you arrive. Soak in the beauty of cottage country with a hike or a swim, and lounge by the water searching for the many fossils that get washed in with the waves. Keep an eye out for bald eagles or deer during your stay. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets and occasional northern lights right on the beach, under the covered porch, or from the comfort of the air-conditioned space inside. This two year old home is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 people with 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and two sets of pull-out couches. The main "great room" boasts extensive windows to take advantage of the 12' ceilings in the front of the cottage. The well-appointed kitchen features a 12' island, 48" gas range, and a 72" fridge/freezer, adding to the feel of staying in a truly great space. Everything in this home is clean and in great working order. With two kitchens and living spaces, this cottage is perfect for multiple families or generations. Guests can choose to gather together in the main kitchen in the upper level or spread out and have breakfast on their own at a time that suits everyone best. Having enough space to both be together and spread out helps contribute to an ideal vacation for everyone. MacGregor Park is just a short walk away, offering groomed trails and other amenities. There is no parking, gate, or admission on the side entrance, so when you enter here, you are entering a much less crowded area with more space to enjoy. Port Elgin is just 12 minutes away, where you can take advantage of the many restaurants, shopping, or spend a day enjoying ice cream and fries on the public beach. Beautiful Southampton is just another 10 minutes up the road if small beach towns are your thing. There are also a couple of km of uninhabited water front that are perfect for a completely secluded waterfront walk. Sunset Shores Retreat is a true oasis that needs to be experienced to be appreciated. Watching the sunset from your own little piece of paradise helps melt away the stress and causes people to connect, relax, and build lifelong memories together. What more could you want from a vacation? Owners live close by and are generally available on short notice to respond to any concerns. Guest access An updated door code will be sent prior to arrival. The garage is not included in the rental. Other things to note This is a family friendly rental and 'partying' with excessive noise, mess or people is strictly forbidden. The water has a gradual slope into the bay and is covered in rounded rocks. Water shoes are recommended. Dogs are hesitantly allowed if they don't make an excessive mess or cause damage. Dogs are not allowed on furniture. Cats are NOT allowed due to allergies.
