Description
The Chapel at The Oratory has been completely refurbished to enhance its heritage - original features! We are close to local pubs offering delicious lunch/dinner, and the Fox Tor Cafe which cannot be beaten for it's breakfasts. You’ll love The Chapel because of it's privacy and space, and because it's situated in of some of the most beautiful, atmospheric and dramatic landscapes. It equally suits couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The space We are happy to say that The Chapel at The Oratory has been newly updated and refurbished to enhance its history and heritage - think Chapel Chic! The Chapel is a self-contained part of our home, complete with it's own lockable entrance and hallway. The main room is divided into two areas: The Mezzanine - a double bed, sofa, storage for your clothes and TV. The Lounge - kitchenette, sofa which converts into two single beds, bookcase with local information, board games, maps and plenty of reading material. The spacious bathroom has a fabulous free-standing bath, separate shower, toilet and sink. The bathroom can be kept toasty warm with underfloor heating if you wish. We provide top quality organic cotton towels and bedding, and only use environmentally friendly cleaning products (with plenty of elbow grease!), ensuring a covid-safe space. Guest access The whole space is yours for the duration of your stay, as well as some garden space just outside where you can relax on a couple of teak steamer lounger chairs. Other things to note The kitchenette has a fridge, kettle and toaster, as well as crockery, cutlery and glasses. We have a table top stove and microwave available for you on request - just say if you need either or both. We can also pop some pans and cooking spoons into the Chapel for you, it’s no trouble at all, so please ask if you need them. The bathroom taps need to be turned about 4 times for the water to flow. There isn’t a sink in the main room due to local planning constraints, so please feel free to wash your dishes in this sink, or leave them for me to wash separately. We love hosting your pooch family members too - we have two dogs ourselves and know how much it means to be able to have a break away together. If you plan to bring your dog along, please let me know when you book, and please do not leave your dog(s) in the Chapel unsupervised at any time. We would also be grateful if you could keep your pooch off the furniture, because of removing dog hair from the soft furnishings. If you need any laundry washing, just let me know and I can wash it in the washing machine in our part of the house - the same applies to anything you need drying in a hurry - I can pop it into our dryer. Feel free to use the washing line to dry wet waterproofs etc - there are pegs in The Chapel for you to use at your convenience.
