Description
This peaceful, pet-friendly, fenced property is opposite Brooms Head main beach where you can see the ocean from the front deck. Walk across the road to a beautiful beach, enjoy a game of cricket in the spacious yard or walk to the club for a meal. . Visit idyllic places close by- RedCliff, Sandon, Maclean, Yamba. BroomsHead is surrounded by national park. The back beach is spectacular and there are heritage listed rock pools and tea-tree lakes. Great fishing, wonderful walks, bird watching. The space People comment that staying at the cottage is like going back in time to when life was much simpler. Whilst we have used the existing footprint, apart from adding a front deck, everything has been renovated or replaced in the past few months. The internal and external cladding are new ( all asbestos has been removed from the cottage) - we have retained some of the original weatherboards in front and back rooms which are part of the original cottage. The middle part of the cottage was one of the first built before BroomsHead was developed, when there were several along the ocean shore directly opposite where it is now. All electrical and plumbing have been replaced. All appliances are new - stove, internal toilet, shower, hand basin, vanities, laundry sink, dryer and washing machine and kitchen. The flooring has also been replaced as have access stairs at front and back. Whilst the cladding has been replaced on the outdoor toilet, we wanted to leave it there, as once upon a time all houses had an external "dunny." However, for those who aren't game, there is a brand new one inside!!! We have added a third large airy bedroom at the back of the house, with a queen bed and built-in and a roof has been built over the front deck. The yard is large and we think the pictures speak for themselves. BroomsHead is a little piece of relaxing paradise in this busy world. However, we know everyone is connected to technology these days and Netflix, etc is part of relaxing, so we have WiFi and it is a fast speed, thanks to the new Telstra tower. However, take a picnic across the road and watch those waves roll in, especially before sunset. You are welcome to bring your dogs, but please leave them on the deck or the tiled area inside or in the yard. We have pets who feature in some of our pictures but they have the same rules. Can you tell we love it? Relax and enjoy. Guest access Come through the big gates at the front and park near the house or under the trees. There is also street parking. We will send you the key safe code privately. Sometimes our address comes up as BroomsHead caravan park. Don't be put off. It is to your right on the corner as you drive in not far after the bridge. Other things to note Go left from the front gate to the lake which is a lovely safe place for kids and dogs to play or keep walking with your dogs (if you have them) to RedCliff, along a pristine beach - about a 30minute walk. If you want to go to the back beach walk right through the village and you will see a path with a sign that takes you to the back beach. If you have dogs you can't go through the caravan park but you could also drive up to the lookout and go from there. With no pets, stroll along the front beach, have a coffee and snack at the SnakShak or General Store, do some rock climbing in the heritage listed pools at the end near the bluff and walk up the bluff and around to the back beach. There are plenty of surfing, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding opportunities too. Registration Details PID-STRA-4289
