Sol Nascente apartment next to University

The house Sol Nascente (Rising Sun) owes its name to the good sun exposure in the morning, flooding the house with light. In the exceptional time of Covid 19, an independent house is an asset for your health and safety, in addition to the fact that we have intensified all cleaning and disinfection procedures. The house is located in the historic centre of the city, between Penedo da Saudade and the Botanical Garden, a 15 min walk to the University. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood. The house is ideal for tourists who want to visit Coimbra and also for families with children. It has two floors. The bottom floor has 1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 completely equipped kitchen and 1 entrance/living room. Upstairs there are 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 double bedroom with a crib and a bedroom with 1 single bed, a complete bathroom and a toilet. Guests can access the entire space with total privacy. It is a detached house. The house is all to yourselves. We personally receive our guests and during the stay they will have access to a contact number. Children under 6 years can stay for free. The house is situated in an residential area. 200 meters down the street there is a cafe and the grocery store "A Favorita de S. José” that is closed on Sundays. Down the street there is a bus stop, line 5, to the the main points of the city. Praça da República (the Republic Square), the meeting point of students, with its cafes and terraces, is a 15 min walk, and there you can also find a bookstore, a pharmacy, a tourist office, an ATM, a post office and a kiosk. The main attractions of the historic city centre can be visited on foot from the house Sol Nascente: Penedo da Saudade and sister Lúcia memorial are a 10 min. walk and the University and the hystorical center are a 15 min. walk. However, the path to the lower part of town (Baixa) can be quite steep, so some visitors can have problems with the uphill walk back. The riverside parks are also pleasant places for walking. Many shopping streets in the centre are traffic-free. The “Basófias” boat runs trips on the River Mondego. Canoes and pedalos can also be rented. We try to provide as much information as possible before the arrival, so that guests know what to expect. You can use all the rooms, even if it is just a group of 5 or 6 people, allowing everyone to have their own room. We have a 48-hour gap between stays, which allows for late check-outs. It also allows us to check cleanliness.
