Eliot: Fully Furnished Studio Across From SLU

The Eliot is a fully furnished studio apartment across the street from St. Louis University. Enjoy a top-quality queen-sized bed, all linens, dedicated high-speed internet, and a full kitchen. Weekly housekeeping included for longer stays. The space Before your arrival, the Eliot will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You'll also find a range of cleaning supplies that you're welcome to use and complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, etc.). To keep our rates low, we do not replenish these items during your stay. Stream any services to which you subscribe on the smart TV, which has an antenna for local television. There is a large gas range, frost-free fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, cookware and utensils. Yes, there is a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The Eliot is on the fourth floor of a seven-story apartment building, and accessible by stairs or elevator. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment or anywhere on the premises. Creation of a reservation indicates acceptance of SF Shannon policies. EASY ACCESS TO THE BEST OF ST. LOUIS This is an ideal location for discovering the best of St. Louis. This is a transit- and bike-friendly location. Walk to City Foundry, Cortex, Grand Center and the Central West End. Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, and all the amenities of a great urban center are minutes away, either by foot or car. The main campus of St. Louis University is across the street. LAUNDRY & HOUSEKEEPING For long-term guests we provide weekly housekeeping. We will make the bed, swap out dirty towels and linens, dust and vacuum. Housekeepers do not wash dishes or take out trash. For your laundry there is a laundromat with six washers and six dryers in the building's basement. In the apartment you will find an iron and ironing board. PARKING Parking is first-come, first-served with a permit that you'll receive upon arrival. Please note that demand is greater than supply. If permit parking is already full, you may park at any nearby metered space at no charge between the hours of 7 PM and 8 AM Monday through Saturday, and all day on Sunday. IS IT SAFE? Since all SF Shannon apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking the question. Co-owner Karen lives in the Central West End, about three blocks from the Eliot. She and her her husband raised their sons in this neighborhood, and have always felt perfectly safe. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE The Eliot overlooks a busy arterial road. We have earplugs in the apartment for late or light sleepers. The Eliot features steam heat, with radiators that turn on as needed to keep the whole building at about 70 degrees. If the apartment does not feel that warm - or if it is too hot, let us know. If you want the Eliot to be warmer than about 70 degrees, there is a space heater in the main room closet. In hot weather, the Eliot is cooled by a window unit air conditioner, which is installed mid-spring and removed mid-fall. Adjust the AC temperature as you see fit. WHY THAT NAME? The Eliot is named after notable St. Louisan and author T.S. Eliot. Eliot lived in the Central West End until his graduation from Smith Academy, then part of Washington University. Guest access The apartment is all yours! There is a shared laundry room in the basement, and shared hallways with other guests and residents. Located on the fourth floor of a seven-story building; you may access the apartment by stairs or elevator.
