Rustic Cabin Perfect for Peaceful Getaway

Cothelstone Farm encompasses 160 acres of hayfields and forest on the western slopes of the Appalachian Mountains in the heart of Preston County, WV. This private and secluded retreat space is perfect for escaping the busyness of life and relaxing in natural beauty. There are approximately 5 miles of marked hiking trails, a running stream, a large stocked pond for recreation and fishing and many woodlands to explore. Evenings bring starlite, quiet and rest. Pets welcome! The space The property has three residences, several outbuildings, a barn, a gazebo, four ponds, a stream and forested trails. The Cabin is rustic but comfortable and an affordable option for a family or group. It is clean and cozy. It is a short walk to the pond and all hiking trails. Tent camping is also welcome on the property with the booking of a rental. Guest access Parking is free on a graveled driveway right next to the cabin. Access in and out of the property is on a private graveled road. The Cabin is approximately a half mile off the highway (Aurora Pike). In winter, a four-wheeled vehicle is required. Other things to note Guests who require basic amenities but not luxury will be most comfortable in this space (similar to glamping). If you don’t like bugs or being in nature then this is not the place for you. We have owned the property for almost 60 years and the cabin is the original residence having been built in 1973 so it is “old” but completely functional. The interior is 768 square feet total and there are steep stairs to access the bedrooms on the upper floor (see pictures).
