Ocean views, native birds and trees

Described as a 'tree house' the apartment is light, airy and spacious (snug in winter) with ocean and bush views, located 5 minutes walk to the beach. It has a separate entrance and a large sunny deck overlooking lush native bush to the ocean below. There is no kitchen but there is a sink under cover on the deck & we provide a BBQ, microwave, bar fridge, kettle and toaster with essential crockery and cutlery. We provide guests with fresh coffee, tea, milk and home made muesli upon arrival. The space Located between the Illawarra escarpment/rainforest and the sea, we are a five minute walk to Wombarra/Scarborough Beach and just a minute from Wombarra railway station (guests who prefer to come by train by city or airport can easily travel to our place). Your hosts Vyvian and Peter live in the old house next door to the apartment The space is a completely private dwelling with a separate guest entrance. Situated in a delightful bush setting looking out to the sea, the light filled apartment has polished wooden floors, with a mezzanine bedroom and ensuite bathroom, large lounge and dining areas. The space opens onto a sunny deck (shared with owners). There is a large table, chairs and comfy sun lounges where you can watch the remarkable variety of native birds going about their business. PLEASE NOTE: THERE CAN BE OCCASIONAL FREIGHT TRAIN NOISE FROM THE ADJACENT RAILWAY LINE. On chilly nights the wood burner in the lounge room creates a delightfully warm and relaxing atmosphere. Our unspoilt and quiet beach is patrolled during the swim season and features a beautiful ocean rock pool on the south end for lap swimming. Walking is a delight here. There are continuous views of the ocean along the coast road and you can access the sub-tropical rainforest by walking along the top roads. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs within a short drive, or pleasant walk, in Scarborough, Coledale, Austinmer and Thirroul. Guest access Guests have complete access to the entire apartment which leads onto the deck with a private guest entrance. There's plenty of on street parking available for guests. We like to welcome guests upon their arrival to make sure all is ok but if you arrive late access is available with a key safe. We have a large but very friendly dog on the premises. If you meet Neeve she will expect a few pats and then some more :-) Other things to note There is no kitchen but we do provide a bar fridge, BBQ, microwave, kettle and toaster. Please also note there are two flights of stairs. One leading to the entrance of the apartment and the other to the bedroom/bathroom on the mezzanine level. PLEASE NOTE: THERE CAN BE OCCASIONAL FREIGHT TRAIN NOISE FROM THE ADJACENT RAILWAY LINE. This has rarely been a problem for our guests as the property has double glazed windows, air conditioning and a ventilation system. An iron and ironing board are available on request.
