In Carmel (Sunset zone 10a), our plants sometimes get confused about the seasons. For example, we get blooms from our Hydrangeas year-round; our Magnolias bloom in winter, and most of our "annuals" stay perennial. It makes for a gardener's dream... and also a seasonality adventure. *Please note that our drip irrigation system does require frequent maintenance, as Marielle is just as obsessive about water conservation as she is about achieving design perfection.* This property is upkept with a high level of dedication and passion. We hope you love it as much as we do! 🫶 Guest access You have FULL PRIVACY — the entire property (house plus 1/3rd acre garden space) is all yours. Garage - now available upon request! Guests staying during Concours d’Elegance will have 2 fully enclosed, secure garage parking spots for their automobiles. Other things to note Children: while we can accommodate newborn babies and teenagers, we generally do not accept groups with school-age children. Dog policy: we accept dogs of all breeds and sizes provided they are full-grown (no puppies). We define full-grown dogs as 2+ years old. We are fairly strict on the no-children and no-puppies rule due to the fact that the home is full of fine art, antique furniture and family heirlooms. We appreciate your understanding! - Neighborhood Quiet Hours begin at 10pm and we request that day-guests depart the home before that hour. - Our driveway comfortably accommodates 4 medium-sized cars. Out of respect to our neighbors, we request you park *all* cars in our driveway. - Strict policy for no open flame. We do have LOTS of high-quality LED candles that we would be happy to provide. — FAQ — Q: Is the house walkable to downtown Carmel? A: No, the house is not safely walkable to downtown. It is only a 3 minute drive though! Q: What is the coffee situation? A: We have a very high-end espresso machine (with superb milk frothing), a conical burr coffee bean grinder, a French Press, as well as standard coffee maker and a tea kettle. We promise satisfaction for your caffeine fixation! ☕ ... Q: What's the pet policy? 🐕 A: We allow up to 2 adult dogs of any breed or size. (No puppies!) We do have a standard Pet Fee of $200. Additional dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis. And your dogs will 💛 our expansive backyard, with easy direct access from both bedroom balconies! ... Q: Can I bring the kiddos? A: Children ages 2-12 are generally not allowed due to the heirlooms and antiques inside the house. However, we DO welcome babies and teenagers. For babies — we also provide a very nice crib, and a baby gate by the stairs. ... Q: Can you hear noise from Highway 1? A: No, most days highway noise cannot be heard. There are some very rare exceptions, but day-to-day traffic is generally not audible inside the house. ... Q: Is Highway 1 within view of the house? A: No, thankfully it is not within view.
