Located in a residential neighborhood (25 mph speed limit on a tree lined street), with sidewalks, street lights, and a children’s playground. Watch boats in the harbor from the front stoop. Perfect spot for foodies, movie-goers, festivals on-foot, bar-hopping, and recreational adventures. There is bus service from Bangor, Portland and Boston. Bus station is located at the Rockland Ferry Terminal, which is 1/2 mile away and also serves the islands of Matinicus, North Haven and Vinalhaven. Local taxi/limousine service and bicycle rentals are also nearby. An airport is located a ten minute drive away in Owls Head, and is serviced by Cape Air. International Airports are in Portland two-hours to the south and Bangor, which is ninety minutes to the north. There are many day trips to take from this central locale. Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor is a memorable trek, and there are many interesting coastal towns to explore.
