Description

Enjoy a jaw-dropping view, peace and quiet, and the warm feel of this fully-furnished 2 bed / 1 bath property situated on 6 wooded acres. A separate tiny house can be used by request to accommodate up to 6 people total. ($25 cleaning fee) This is the place for peace & quiet. Mountains and wildlife to look at. No TV, meh cell signal. Cabin is cozy, comfortable, and special to our family. Come unplug and recharge. Lots of land for the kids to roam on. Or, go off to fish, hike, or bike nearby The space Come to unwind and enjoy natural beauty. This is more of a tea and red wine than tequila shots sort of place. With one bathroom, the property can comfortably accommodate two couples or a family of 6. The cabin is surrounded by 6 acres of trees, lots of woods for kids to play in or adults to hang hammocks in, within 5 minutes walk to climbable rock formations, across the road from oodles more acres of woods and fields to explore, and close to world-class fishing, biking, and hiking trails (kid-friendly walks, lazy pass hikes, and 14,000 foot mountains). Disc golf, and the Colorado trail are close by. Twenty-five minutes to quaint and historic Fairplay, 1 hour to Breckenridge, 1 hour to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. (Use "Indian Mountain Recreation Center" if you're calculating distances online.) Enjoy a day of activities and come back to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Guest access You'll definitely need a car to get to the cabin! In winter, 4-wheel drive is highly recommended, in other seasons, 2WD is fine. Big note about winter access: The driveway is about 400 feet long and very steep. If it has snowed a lot and the plowers are slow to act, you may be driving your car into a foot of snow at the bottom of the steep driveway and hauling your stuff up. We do plow, but it can take a day or two for them to get to us. (Note that we've bumped up the cleaning fee for the winter as we have to plow for the cleaners as it's not fair to ask them to haul their stuff up a snowy driveway. Basically, we're splitting a plowing fee with you.) If you’d like me to have the driveway plowed a second time for your stay, it’s $125. For what it's worth, when we use the cabin and it snows, we just park at the bottom and pull stuff up with the cargo sled we leave there. We enjoy it but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea…Our kids LOVE sledding down the driveway (don't use the cargo sled - use the other ones we leave under the porch for you). Snow generally melts by April, and from then on, the driveway should be accessible to all vehicles including 2wd. We made it work with two small children and we use our cabin all winter, so it can be done! The cabin is a beautiful, cozy, and rugged winter mountain experience. If you're looking for a hotel-like experience, go elsewhere. Other things to note Cell signal has been hit or miss, lately better. We have starlink internet, which has been consistently fine for us to do our zoom calls from. No oven - only a range. Sorry, no campfires - county law... Consider bringing a hammock or two! We've got one up there that you can use. Be sure you read the note about winter access.
