They name each full moon each month to keep track of the seasons of the year. The peacock symbolizes health, splendor, and poise. In some myths and legends, the peacock symbol carries the omens of nobility, guidance, and spirituality. Native American chiefs often wear peacock feathers to show communication with the gods and their wisdom. In addition, the meaning of peacock feathers is immortality, guarding and protection. Native Americans also use small sticks to ward off poisonous snakes in case of attack or to create colorful dreamcatchers.
