They also have a juice/coffee bar, healthy ready-made food, hot bar, sandwich bar and deli. I'm there every day :-) Breakfast/Lunch: Madison Sourdough- 916 Williamson St. (5 minute walk) Amazing bread, pastries, croissants and coffee. Lovely breakfast and lunch menu featuring eggs benedict, omelets, quiche, sandwiches and soups. Batch Bakehouse- 1402 Williamson St. (12 minute walk) An even bigger selection of amazing bread, pastries, croissants, cakes, cookies, etc. Batch is a bakery. There are some tables and chairs to stay and eat their delicious treats, but it's not a restaurant. Johnson Public House (20 minute walk) Delicious artisanal coffee and a casual breakfast and lunch menu featuring salads, sandwiches and toasts. Ancora- 107 King St. (15 minute walk) Buzzing hangout of Madison's politicos. Wonderful coffee with delicious breakfast and lunch menu make this café a real treat. Marigold Kitchen- 118 S. Pinckney St. (15 minute walk) A buzzing counter service café with creative, healthy food. Himal Chuli- 318 State St. (25 minute walk if you cut through the capital building) Himalayan/Nepalese restaurant with lots of great vegetarian options. **Food carts on the capital square or in library mall on the UW campus are usually open from 11am-2pm May-October. Dinner- casual Grandpa's Pizza- 1374 Williamson St. (12 minute walk) Cozy, hip pizzeria that also features creative appetizers and salads. Mint Mark- 1929 Winnebago St. (25 minute walk) American small plates restaurant and craft cocktail bar. The creative menu features local and sustainable produce and meats. Light, airy decor and fun vibe:-) Settle Down Tavern- 117 S. Pinckney St. (15 minute walk) Craft cocktails, smash burgers and other causal fare in a cool speakeasy-type bar. Part of the “Streetery” program in Madison so they have a big outdoor section with some other restaurants on S. Pinckney St. Fun vibe! Tavernakaya- 27 E. Main St. (15 minute walk) Modern Japanese sushi, ramen & dumpling bar, located on the Capitol Square. Canteen- 111 S. Hamilton St. (25 minute walk) Great tacos, burritos and margaritas in a cool flatiron building just off the capital square. Pizza Brutta- 1805 Monroe St. (10 Minute drive) Casual spot for wood-fired, Neapolitan pies created from housemade mozzarella & local ingredients. The owner trained in Italy so it’s the real thing. Dinner- a little fancy Sardine- 617 Williamson St. (12 minute walk) Beautiful lakeside bistro serving upscale French-inspire cuisine. Osteria Papavero- 128 E. Wilson St. (15 minute walk) Fresh, innovative Italian cuisine. Lots of interesting specials daily. Variety of small plates and entrees. Tornado Steakhouse- 116 S. Hamilton St. (23 minute walk) Madison's premier downtown steak house offering white-linen dining in a supper club atmosphere. Tempest Oyster Bar- 120 E.
