Description
Historic 3 bedroom farmhouse overlooking hundreds of acres of protected farmland. Originally a schoolhouse built in 1900, it was converted into a single family residence in the 1940s. While we only purchased this property in 2021, the house has clearly seen decades of thoughtful care as long as it has been here. We are committed to honoring the attention it has seen through the years, with intentional design, thoughtful furniture selection, and bespoke decor. The space With an open downstairs floorpan, plenty of windows, protected acreage surrounding, hilltop vista, and southern facing exposure, this space provides abundant natural light, an ideal way to start the day (especially in Vermont!). This is truly a unique property for Stowe that we feel tremendously fortunate to own and hope to share with friends, family, and the right guests for years to come. It is only a 5-minute drive from the town of Stowe with its quintessential New England charm, many restaurants, and boutiques. A 15-minute drive from Stowe Mountain and Spruce Peak, boasting the tallest peak in Vermont and best skiing on the east coast. And only a hop from many of the reasons any of us come to Vermont in the first place: nature, farmland, hiking, biking, skiing, views, privacy, breweries, fresh air, etc., etc., etc. This property is the perfect place to set your feet to explore. The property name is 'Thompson Orchard,' named after our Portuguese Water Dog puppy, Thompson, as well as the apple trees that surround the house. While this has quickly become a home for us, we both live and work in New York City. As we put our home together, we have tried to bring some of our favorite parts of city life together with the natural escape that this special place provides.
