Private Cuchara Cabin built along the Dike Trail

If you are looking for complete relaxation in Cuchara, but yet just a 5-10 minute walk to the Dog Bar, then this cabin is perfect for you and your family. The wrap around deck gives amazing views of the valley below and the updated basement (with built in bunk beds) is the stuff kids dream about. The cabin has high speed wifi, dishes, and everything you'll need for an amazing week. Please note, you are welcome to use our propane fire pit and our fireplace, but NO OUTDOOR WOOD FIRES ALLOWED. The space Although the driveway is recently graveled (to prevent mud and rain runoff erosion) a 4-wheel drive vehicle is required. Otherwise, you can park at the bottom of the driveway and just walk up (its about 100 feet, but at Cuchara altitude, this would be tough for out of towners. Note: we will not rent to guest with 2-wheel drive vehicles, unless you agree to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up. Trying to drive up a mountain driveway with a 2-wheel drive vehicle is just too difficult. If you aren't comfortable driving up the mountain driveway, you are always welcome to park at the bottom and walk up the beautiful new staircase walkway we had custom built (it is about 35 steps and takes less than 1 minute to walk up). Even if you do drive up to the cabin, when going for afternoon walks, the walkway up to the cabin is almost guaranteed to be one of the best part of every hike! Other things to note No Outdoor Wood Fires Allowed. You can use our indoor fireplace or the outdoor propane fire pit.
