A rustic camping den in the woods—with a loft, kitchen w/ propane stove, and private creek access. Just 3 miles from Ruby Beach (south of Forks, Wa). A 2 mile private drive through Olympic Natl Park, some cut land, a 1 minute forest walk and it’s all yours! Huge skylights and windows, and not fully sealed walls allow for maximum forest feel. No electric or running water. Pack out garbage+toilet bag. Please read more below The space **Bring light and water** Bring bedding recommended. Some blankets provided for 1 queen and 1 twin bed. Firewood is: On site, 10 pieces for $5 . Pick up at Camp Host Woodshed, shortly before your cabin. Cash only. Ven:mo is double price. **Price may differ in summer--depending on wood availability **Summertime (June-Sept) there is a county wide burn ban in effect. No fires. Edward is a wood rat, sometimes found in the shelter, but who lives in the woods around Forest Den. If you prefer not to be bothered by Edward’s nocturnal hours, obey the “Critters Are Around: Secure All Food” sign in the shelter. Other guests have not, thus encouraging critters to move in. Campsite: No lock/key needed. Sleeping is: +bunk beds + 2 camp pads +loft (1 queen+1 twin bed) “Half-bath” is: Camp toilet—"luggable loo" style bucket. Bags, hand sanitizer, toilet paper provided. Pack it out system. Nearby (10 second trail walk). Kitchen includes: +2 burner camp stove (fuel provided) +Pot/pan/paper plates/bowls/silverware +French press for coffee (bring coffee) +Hot cocoa +Oil+seasonings +Cooler The nature of a camping cabin—possible mice, spiders, etc. Parking: No RV’s or large, wide vehicles. If 2 cars, you will need to back out driveway (200 ft). --Steep "roots and rope" trail down to a partial-lined, well-flagged, 5 min trail to creek (left natural to preserve wild feel). --3 spare sleeping bag+pillows at cabin (blankets not regularly washed) Nearest town is 45 minutes: Forks, Wa. Nearest basic convenience store is 25 minutes: Kalaloch Mercantile. Nearest gas station is 30 minutes: Queets Trading Post Guest access Full access to cabin and creek trail. Please stay downstream of creek access point. No venturing upstream. Other things to note Rain gear + good boots are handy for exploring creek or coastal tide pools. Slippers are handy for rock floor.
