The space Carl's Hut is a Yarra Valley vineyard stay that discretely blends the old and the new, with heated polished concrete floors, vaulted ceiling, skylights, original timber beams, lime-washed walls, a bedroom with forest views and bathroom with a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the vines. The beautifully appointed kitchenette features a retro-Gaggenau stove top, while automatic slab heating and split system air conditioning enable the ambient temperature to be sufficiently comfortable without the need to light a fire. The windows have been fitted with insect screens so they can be opened for cross ventilation particularly when the weather is warm. Sustainability and historical preservation have been paramount in the design, with the use of local materials including stringy-bark timber and clay. A selection of Solitude Estate wines are also available for purchase at Carl's Hut to enable guests to complement the perfect culinary experience. And to help set the right groove, guests can play their favourite music on a Klipsch the Three heritage speaker. Set well away from the hum of traffic , another unique feature of this well-treed property is its abundance of wildlife and native birds. Just the tonic to reconnect with nature and recharge the batteries! Carl's Hut is located on Solitude Estate Vineyard, a private top 50 vineyard in Australia that is dedicated to making wine how nature intended. Guest access Because Carl's Hut is located within a working vineyard, guests are asked not to venture among the vines due to bio-security protocols. The fencing around the venue is to ensure the privacy and safety of guests. There are numerous nature and walking trails in the area, some of which are only five minutes drive from the property. Other things to note Carl's Hut does not accommodate children or pets. No weddings, pre-wedding parties or group functions are permitted. No commercial shoots, editorial shoots or elopements with-out written consent from the hosts. There is a $30 fee for each allocated batch of firewood used (there will be a batch next to the inside fireplace ($30)and a batch for the outside fire pit ($30). There is a black jar to pop cash payment or bank transfer.
