Located at The Cozy Corner in Boalsburg's Historic Village District, this lovely 2nd floor apartment has a very comfortable homey/traditional feel. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly and safe. Your hosts, Ken and Claire live on the property and will greet you upon arrival. PLEASE READ "Other things to note" and "Houser rules" for important info prior to booking. Also, please check out their 1st floor apartment "A Touch of Tuscany" for a smaller, less expensive, super sweet Italian themed place. The space Base price for this apartment is for two people. Up to two more people can be accommodated in The Library Room at an addition charge of $25 per person per night. Please enter the total number of people staying the night and Airbnb will calculate your total. About the house: It was selected and ordered from a Sears and Roebuck catalog and built in 1925. The second floor space we are offering is bright, cozy, comfy and very clean. There are three main rooms here: master bedroom, living room, which has a foldout futon, and a dining/sitting room. There’s also a spacious kitchenette (info on that is found in "Other details to note") and full bath. A wonderful feature are large original windows surrounding the entire space. Those in the front half bathe the rooms in southern sunlight and provide wonderful views of Main St. All have recently been restored to allow the tops to be opened along with the bottoms for additional ventilation and summertime breezes. There's also AC window units installed in the master bedroom and living room during the hottest months. Classic cast iron radiators in every room provide a very comfortable and even heat during winter. Other features are vintage ceramic tiles adorning the walls of the bath and kitchen, and handcrafted wood moldings throughout the space. THERE IS NO TV. However streaming quality is great due to the our high speed internet service so streaming is seamless. Outside the front door is a cozy porch where you can sit with a morning coffee or evening wine. You also have access to the large furnished porch at the side of the house. This porch is shared with Ken and Claire and our first floor guests. Another nice spot for morning coffee or evening wine, work on your computer, or just chat among yourselves, with us, other guests, neighbors, or quietly watch the world go by (and in our village it goes very slow :). Restaurants (including a 200 year old tavern), a brewery, shops, churches, a cafe, breakfast place, a salon, winery, massage, yoga, museums, convenience store, post office, service station, and parks are all an easy walk away. A CATA bus stop to State College and Penn State University is just outside the door. Within bicycle distance are grocery stores, rock climbing gym, mountain bike park, Tussey Mountain Resort, and Rothrock State Forest. One final note. Ken cleans the apartment, hence the no cleaning fee. He takes his job very seriously to make sure EVERYTHING is squeaky clean. You may not find any other apartment as clean as this one. Ken stakes his reputation on it. Guest access This is not just a self check-in rental property. Your hosts, Ken and Claire, live on the property and meet and greet guests upon arrival and then go over the basics of the house and apartment. They will show you your own private entrance leading upstairs to your apartment and go over the keypad door lock. You also have access to the large furnished porch at the side of the house. This porch is shared with us and our first floor guests. Here you can sit with a morning coffee or evening wine, work on your computer, or just chat among yourselves, with us, other guests, neighbors, or quietly watch the world go by (and in our village it goes very slow :).
