Chalet 1 @ Klipplaatsdrift Safari Lodge

Klipplaatsdrift lodge is a "off-the grid" lodge with 4 chalets overlooking the Vlekpoort river 32km's from Hofmeyr, Eastern Cape. The landscape boasts abundant birdlife, scenery and wildlife for those looking to get away. The main lodge is spacious and airy with all the amenities one needs for self catering and the capacity for larger groups. Chalet 1 @ Klipplaatsdrift Safari Lodge has 2 bedrooms, a lounge area, kitchenette, bathroom with shower and a covered patio with a build in braai. The space Each Chalet is furnished with a king-size bed and 2 single beds which can be converted to a king-size bed configuration on request. A Camping cot or extra mattress is also available for the little ones on request. We pride ourselves on our bedding and bath sheets which are 100% Luxury Egyptian cotton with luxurious microfibre duvet inners which will make your sleep and stay just extra comfortable. You will also find extra warm blankets for the cold winter month. Each chalet has an open plan kitchenette with a fridge, coffee/tee station, Snappy Chef with crockery and cutlery. A lounge area with a single bed size daybed and Malawian wicker chairs that leads you to a covered patio with a build-in braai on the banks of the Vlekpoort River. An abundant amount of firewood will be found at each chalet to use, for if you just want the atmosphere of a campfire or to braai a Karoo lamb chop. Each chalet is tucked away underneath the beautiful Accacia thorn trees too give you privacy and more of the real outdoor living feel. You will also have your own private lawn in front of your chalet on the banks of the Vlekpoort River which is ideal for a relaxed picnic or for the kids/furry kids to play. We thank our “lawnmowers” aka the Fallow deer’s, Steenbokkies, Kudu’s and occasional Gushas (sheep) that loves feeding on our green vegetation in front of the chalets and main lodge. The chalets has unlimited Wi-Fi and is completely solar powered to avoid the inconvenience of load shedding. The main lodge: The space consist of an airy open plan fully equipped kitchen with an added scullery and laundry space, dining room, lounge and bar which leads you out onto a covered patio next to the boma that overlooks the Vlekpoort river. You will find a built-in braai in the dining room area which can seat up to 12 guests. The lounge has a slow combustion fireplace which is just perfect for our cold winter months. One can also enjoy the boma area where you will find an outdoor braai, fire pit with seating where bonfires can be enjoyed under the African skies while sipping on a glass of wine. The main lodge also has a heated splash pool located next to the covered patio for those hot summer months we experience in the hearty Karoo. The lodge has unlimited Wi-Fi, Dstv, Netflix and is completely solar powered to avoid the inconvenience of load shedding Guest access Guests must feel free to explore the farm. Go for a walks, runs and bike rides or enjoy a swim in the splash pool located at the main lodge. Game drives can be arraigned on request with the game viewer at additional cost or guests are welcome to view game at their own time. The main lodge will only be occupied by guests staying for 2 nights and longer or for large groups of 10+ guests. Other things to note Please note that Klipplaatsdrift Safari Lodge is located on a farm and all the roads leading to the lodge and chalets are dirt roads. The main farm stead is +- 1km from Klipplaatsdrift Safari Lodge, enough space for the guests to do their own thing but close enough for any assistance if needed.
