Bruny Boathouse
Description
The Bruny Boathouse offers sweeping views across the d’Entrecasteaux Channel to Satellite Island and Hartz Mountain. Centrally located in Alonnah, it’s the perfect base for exploring Bruny’s wild beauty. Slow down with sea air and gum trees, gather by the fire pit with marshmallows, or soak under the stars in the outdoor bath. A family-friendly shack with all the comforts, made for island living. The space The Boathouse is your escape to island life — where raw sea air, towering gums, and the rhythm of the tides set the pace. Spend sun-soaked days on the deck, fish from the jetty, swim at the child-friendly beach just across the road, or wander the shore collecting shells. As the evening cools, gather around the fire pit with marshmallows for toasting, sink into the outdoor bath under the stars, or curl by the wide bifold windows and watch the weather dance across the channel. Step inside to a high cathedral ceiling and a view that pulls your eye straight to the ocean. Two restful bedrooms sleep four — one queen, one king (or two singles) — layered in French flax linen, soft cotton and cloud-topped mattresses for the dreamiest sleep. The bathroom, though simple, brings a little ritual with Salus body wash, shampoo and conditioner — fresh, botanical and restorative. Little Extras A chilled bottle of Bellebonne sparkling rosé and smooth Kenyak chocolates greet you on arrival — a small indulgence to toast the beginning of your stay. The pantry is stocked with simple comforts: muesli, pasta, olive oil, teas, sugar, long-life milk, ground coffee and pods. It’s just enough to ground you in the rhythm of the island, while you bring along Tassie delights to feast on. The Kitchen A coffee plunger and pod machine for your morning brew, plus a Smeg stove, cooktop, fridge and microwave so you can cook with ease if the mood takes you. Island Life The interiors are relaxed and thoughtful — timber, linen and artwork echo the natural tones outside. The focus here isn’t fuss, it’s freedom. Days stretch long with sea breezes, salty swims, slow meals and island adventures. At night, toast marshmallows under the gums, take deep baths under the stars (for couples or the kids’ delight), and fall asleep to the hush of the channel. Guest access You have the entire property to yourself and access the property via the self check in lock box. Other things to note We have young children ourselves so we provide all the amenities you may need for your children. We can split the king bed into singles. We also have a Baby Bjorn port-a-cot & high chair available upon request at no additional cost. Water & Hot Water System: Bruny Boathouse runs entirely on rain-collected tank water, so we ask guests to keep showers and baths to a respectful minimum — it’s all part of island life! The hot water cylinder is designed for up to four people, so longer showers or consecutive baths may temporarily use up the supply. It will replenish, but a little mindfulness helps keep everyone comfortable. Registration Details Exempt: This listing falls under Section 12 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993
