Style, character and inspiring creativity abounds at Sign Maker's Cottage. Our studio has been lovingly filled with consciously-sourced items. More than 80% of the furniture, objects and gorgeous art work has been sustainably sources with curated second hand items. There is art, character and personality on every wall and in each corner of this beautiful part of Warburton. This cozy retreat at the foot of Mount Donna Buang is the perfect base for exploring the Yarra Valley. @makerscottages The space Creatives in charge of inspiration have long sought out this place to inspire, delight and rest. Sign Maker's cottage plays homage to the original owner of the 1907 house, Walter Salisbury of the Signs Publishing Company. We imagine a well travelled man who collected curios on his travels and used this as a base to inspire his creativity. As you step inside, you'll found, rescued, and repurposed items that have been impeccably styled with modern comforts and luxuries. Our studio has a lounge area, queen-size bed and small dining area. The kitchenette has everything you need to cater should you desire. It includes an electric hob, electric fry pan and microwave. We also supply basic provisions such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, spices, olive oil and salt & pepper and snacks. Wifi is available if you want to stay connected. Located in the captivating town of Warburton, Sign Maker's Cottage offers easy access to the region's natural wonders and cultural delights. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the surrounding forests, hike along the scenic trails, or indulge in the flavours of the local wineries and artisanal eateries. We are walking distance to the Redwood Forest, O'Shannassy acquaduct trail. It's a 5 minute drive to town or a slightly longer leisurely walk. This is the perfect base to explore the Yarra Valley. Combined with Film Makers Cottage on the same block you have the option to accommodate up to 6 guests. Guest access There are two Maker's Cottages on our block. Sign Maker's Cottage is accessed from one street front. You can park in the driveway or open the gate and park in the space inside. Film Maker's Cottage is accessed from the opposing street front. You can park in the driveway. Please respect the privacy of your fellow traveller to Maker's Cottages. There is a small screen between the two cottages and we request you treat that like an imaginary fence as you would between neighbours. Other things to note We stock a basic pantry which includes: Ground Coffee Beans, Black and Herbal Teas, Milk, Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil & basic spices. We also offer a little honesty mini-bar, where you can enjoy some local and regional produce during your stay. We supply luxury 'Ink & Water' toiletries and Koala Eco cleaning supplies. We supply Sheridan towels and beautiful bedding, but please BYO towels for river swimming. We are very happy to organise a beautiful cheese selection from Mill Grove Diary to be waiting upon your arrival.
