Home in Newbury Park

My place is close to the Santa Monica Mountains, and equidistance to CLU & CSUCI, & 1/2 hour to the beach or Point Mugu. Located on a quiet, safe cul-de-sac, the comfy room w/ a view, comes w/ a private backyard & friendly housemates to make you feel right at home. I have lived here for more than 30 years and can point you in almost any direction you want to go, with helpful advice about the area and it's amenities. My place is good for a college student, business traveler or solo adventurer. The space This bedroom is on the west side of my home, with a view out to the front of the house, and the Santa Monica Mountains beyond the neighborhood. The room is carpeted, and features beautiful mandala paintings created by shaman/artist, Jim Berenholtz. The room is furnished with a full sized bed, dresser, desk and chair; bookshelves, a storage cabinet, and has a full size wardrobe closet. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I added a small refrigerator and microwave oven, so that the occupant can "shelter-in-place." Guest access This room shares an upstairs double sink bathroom with tub with shower fixture. The bathroom is cleaned daily and antiseptic wipes as well as paper towels are on hand for guest's use. All guests are asked, on the honor system, to wipe down any surfaces touched with the alcohol wipes after use of the facilities, as well. If supplies need to be replenished, please let the hostess know. Due to the pandemic, guests do not have full use of the interior common areas, however guests may access the backyard and patios, as long as they maintain physical distance of at least 6 feet, and after use, the tables and patio chairs are returned to the condition and position they were found in. Also due to the pandemic, the barbecue grill, as well as my kitchen and laundry facilities, are not for the use of guests. Please ask for directions to grocery stores, eateries (most of which deliver) and the nearby laundromat if needed during your stay. There is a city bus stop a short (less than 5 minutes) walk, adjacent to the neighborhood park from here. For someone who does not have a car, you can get to employers like AMGEN and others, just across the freeway from here, and the bus can get you all over Thousand Oaks. UBER and LYFT and all the food delivery services know my address, as well. Parking is not a problem as I have the biggest driveway in the neighborhood, and there is also ample free parking on the street in front of my home. During your stay Usually, I am home to welcome you. If I am traveling, I have a long term housemate who will welcome you in my absence. Other things to note All guests in my home MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19. In order to get a confirmed reservation, potential GUESTS MUST VERIFY THEIR THEIR COVID-19 VACCINE STATUS BY SHARING A COPY OF THEIR COVID VACCINE RECORD, either by uploading it to this conversation thread, or by sending it by text attachment when my cell phone number is revealed, after the reservation is confirmed. If verification of vaccination status is not completed timely, the reservation will be cancelled. I am responsible for maintaining a safe environment for my house mate, all guests, and myself; therefore this house rule is not negotiable. There is ring video doorbell at my front door. ***Absolutely NO unregistered persons are allowed to enter my home. My rooms are for one registered guest at a time.*** Wifi is available throughout the house and back yard and patio areas. My service offers 260 Mbps, so it is screaming fast. A sweet dog named Phebea, and a friendly calico cat named Katie, live here and look forward to welcoming you. Use of tobacco or illegal substances of any kind is NOT permitted on this property at any time, not even in your individual room. Smoking inside my home is a big NO NO. Ventura County Public Health COVID-19 Protocols are observed here: Wash your hands often; wear a face mask, covering your mouth AND nose in the presence of others; practice social distancing of at least 6 feet from others, and do NOT gather with others outside the house.
