Brew fresh coffee in the French press and enjoy the morning light on the deck. When you return from a day of fun in Nashville, spin some vinyl and luxuriate with a hot bath in the large soaking tub. Put a movie on the projector or enjoy a final cocktail on the porch under the 80 year-old Virginia pine before drifting off to sleep in the queen sized memory foam bed. + memory foam mattresses + Brooklinen sheets, Onsen organic bath towels + soaking tub + projector and roku + bluetooth speaker, record player + high speed internet + washer and dryer + fenced-in yard + non toxic cleaning and body products + local artisan-made, one-of-a-kind furniture + dedicated parking space behind private gate + endless hot water + complimentary coffee, filtered water, snacks THE LAYOUT The upstairs loft has one queen-sized bed, extra blankets, full closet, and record player. Guests control the temperature with the newly refurbished minisplit. Dedicated fans and and a space heater are provided for extra comfort. WALKABILITY The neighborhood is suitable for walks, dog walks, and jogs, though sidewalks in the area are inconsistent. LOCATION Please note that the house is in a residential area outside of tourist zones, so you will live like a local! The neighborhood is close to the zoo and the new soccer stadium. It is a 10 minute drive to downtown Nashville, 15 minutes to the airport, 20 minutes to East Nashville, 5 minutes to the Wedgewood-Houston arts district, and about 15 minutes to Vanderbilt and Belmont. For nature lovers, Flatrock House is a 15 minute drive to the best trails in town, including The Two Rivers Park, Heartland Trail, and Radnor Lake. For those looking for a unique Nashville experience, explore Woodbine, our neighborhood, and its dozens of affordable international restaurants, locals-only coffee spots, and Black Abbey, one of the our favorite breweries. PETS We love our four-legged guests. If you have questions or more than 2 pets, drop us a line before booking. We recommend pets remain crated. NOTES The space gets a lot of natural light, and sleepers who are sensitive to light may want to bring a sleeping mask. The loft tends to be warmer than the ground floor. In extreme heat, the loft may not get below 65 degrees, and fans are provided for sleepers who like it cooler. Flatrock House is a guest house built as an addition to my original 1937 cottage and shares one back lower wall with the original cottage. That wall is soundproofed for your privacy. The loft ceilings in are low, please watch your head. The kitchen has cast iron burners and a stand-alone convection oven instead of a traditional range. We look forward to having you! STR permit #2017062182 Guest access Parking: Guests have a private parking space behind a wooden fence. Please park behind the gate and keep the gate closed. The gate opening is 9 feet, 4 inches wide.
