Description
Take a step back in this unique, tranquil and romantic getaway. 1960’s Valais-style wood and stone chalet with thick, sturdy walls. Fully renovated interior with modern programmable heating and a cozy, efficient fireplace that heats the entire home. Snuggle up in front of the fireplace or take in the view on the balcony. Your privacy is guaranteed by four 65-year-old trees that tower above but leave plenty of space for the iridescent sky and view of the Swiss Alps. The space This chalet is a charming little jewel. It retains most of its original features, including a magnificent fireplace in the centre of the living room. Sit out on the balcony (where you can have your meals in summer) and listen to the chimes of the multitude of birds that flutter through the trees. Enjoy a fondue or raclette in the separate, fully heated ‘Carnotzet’ – a traditional Swiss little party room (that is fully equipped) where you can have your cheese meals without having to deal with the lingering smell when you’re ready for bed. Use a dedicated workspace with iMac computer if you have the need. We can provide an extra mattress in the small bedroom if needed. The 2nd bedroom is primarily for children. The bed is 160cm long (5'3"). Guest access You do not need a car to access all of the local amenities, however a private parking space is available on the chalet property. There is an additional parking space available on the property, except when there is a lot of snow. Right outside your door are hiking and biking routes, snowshoeing, ski-touring and cross-country skiing. There are two downhill ski runs in the village, including night skiing in winter. Transport from Geneva airport is very easy. Direct train to Nyon and then train from Nyon to Les Pralies (St-Cergue). The chalet is 500 meters from the train stop. E-bikes and VTT/mountain bikes can be rented in the village. In the winter you can rent snowshoes, skis and sleds. St-Cergue has a grocery store, two bakeries and several restaurants and boutiques. For those who would like a fuller downhill ski experience, Les Rousses is a 10-minute drive just over the border in France, with multiple ski runs, as well as cross-country, snowshoeing and ski-touring. It also has a wide array of restaurants, shops and grocery stores – anything you may need. Other things to note Fully detached private home that is extremely peaceful, but you don't have to worry if you make noise, as it is impossible to disturb the neighbours unless you open all the windows. :)
