Spacious upper level suite perfect for two adults. Oversized bedroom with queen bed plus a bonus double bed. Comfy living room to enjoy morning coffee. The suite has its own entrance and is completely private including bathroom and it is on the third floor (with NO elevator). The house is in the National Historical Registry 1905 - 2nd in command officers quarters. Explore Fort Stevens on the Columbia River & Pacific Ocean - within minutes. Astoria, Seaside, Cannon Beach are nearby. The space Historic 1905 Officer's quarters has been completely renovated with all the comforts you require for a restful night sleep and getaway. Access the suite via private "servants" staircase UP 2 1/2 floors with NO elevator. (The dimensions of the stairs are 32" wide x 10.5" deep x 8" high) The space features two separate rooms plus a private bath with shower. The living room area has a couch, dining table and coffee corner that includes a Keurig machine, mini-fridge & microwave. The bedroom area is large with a queen bed and a second bonus double bed. We offer high speed internet if you need to do a little work or want to stream a show. Please note that there is not a TV in the suite but a few games are available. Sit back in one of the Adirondack chairs on the lawn just outside the suite unit entrance and enjoy the evening sunset. Oftentimes you'll see elk grooming the lawn in the parade grounds. Guest access Suite guests have access the laundry area (washer and dryer) during their stay. This is in a shared space and located on the basement level completely separate from the suite. Dedicated parking for 1 or 2 cars in back for 520 Suite guests. We do not have parking available for boat trailers or RVs. The Hammond Marina is very close and boats can be launched there and parking is available for boat trailers. You can walk to Fort Stevens historic site and the Hammond marina easily from the suite. The ocean is a 1.6 mile walk or bike ride (use our cruisers) through the fort to parking lot A. Wildlife is abundant and you'll often see elk and deer as you meander through the neighborhood. If you enjoy bird watching ... this is the spot! Hummingbirds, Brown and White Pelicans, Stellar and Blue Jays, Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Hawks, and so much more are frequently spotted in the area. Other things to note You will access the suite through a private entrance, up the private staircase (2 1/2 flights) in into the spacious suite on the top level. Smoking is not allowed in the suite. An additional cleaning fee will be assessed if it is apparent that there was smoking in the suite during your stay. We do not allow pets. We ask that you do not wear shoes in the suite. We have places to leave your shoes at the top of the stairs. The suite is carpeted but you may want to bring your slippers. The suite is on the top floor of our house and there is a shared floor/ceiling. Please be respectful of your noise level. Our suite is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in between guests for your safety. Additional TAX information: In addition to the state of Oregon 1.5% accommodation tax, Warrenton/Hammond has a 12% transient tax and Clatsop County has a 3% transient tax (Increased from 1% on Jan. 1, 2026) - all of these taxes are added to your lodging cost as a separate line item. All AirBNB rentals have to pay these taxes quarterly. Only recently has AirBNB set it up so that properties can charge separately - they collect on our behalf and we send to the appropriate jurisdictions. Every AirBNB has to pay the taxes.
