Our place is a cozy farmhouse cottage abt 3 miles from Woodstock, with its cultural events, restaurants, galleries,nightlife We have a mountain view , hard wood floors, renovated kitchen with open plan to the living room, wood burning stove, 2 larger and one smaller bedroom. The place is clean, quiet and restful if a bit rustic. Great hikes nearby including the firetower on top of Overlook. . Contact us for Holiday week specials and longer term rental possibilities! There is actually no cell service in our little valley- take a break from the business of the modern world. We also have a resident flock of free range chickens so the place comes w complementary fresh eggs if you are willing to retrieve them from their coop. We do store things in the downstairs hallway closet and an upstairs closet The basement is generally not recommended especially for children- we do have a child gate to prevent going down stairs to basement. The garage ( a separate building) is also private. We are always available for questions. We are a 5 minute drive to Woodstock, 20 mins to Phoenicia We do own the 2 acre meadow across the road- if you would lie to take a dip or visit the Sawkill and its rocks which are on the other side. There are some nice local hikes- up Mt Guardian, up Mc Daniel Rd to the monastery or further up to the Overlook fire tower. There is an Adirondack Trailways bus that can drop you off upon the request at the bottom of our lane ( we are a half mile up ) So you can visit our place without car- The nearest market is over a mile and a half down the road- Woodstock is about an hour walk.Watch out when walking on the higher speed 212. We are pet friendly to polite animals- please keep dogs on leash as there are old neighbors and many wild animals as well as an occasional speedy car on our lane.Please inform us if you are bringing a pet. We do have well water and it has a strong sulfurous smell- ( harmless and even healthy) We do have a water filter on the kitchen tap to filter the water to prevent the sulfur taste
