Description

Historic South Park Purple Barney guesthouse. Built in 1920 this shotgun cottage was rehabbed by me, a neighborhood activist, who stripped it down to the studs. What you'll find is a mix of historic, modern, and mid-century modern, with vaulted ceilings, skylights in both the bedroom and the spacious bathroom, and safe, snug, and quiet thanks to the insulation, new windows & doors. New Metal Roof in 2022! Your host is a Certified Service Disabled Vet. The space You have full run of the house, which is laid out on one story. The Schlage smart lock on the front door allows you for quick self-check-in. Free WiFi internet access is provided, pretty speedy too. The bathroom is spacious and light, and the tub is jetted. There is a washer and dryer in the spacious closet off the bedroom. There is a monitored security system, and a Nest thermostat. There is a Bose speaker in the living room- with a bluetooth connection. The furniture is a funky mix leaning toward Mid century modern. We've got a few board games, cards, and of course, 2 smart TVs- one with a Roku Soundbar and the other just a Roku TV. No cable, but over the air programming, and access to whatever services you subscribe to. You'll find the modern kitchen fully stocked with all the tools you'll need; toaster, coffee maker, microwave, blender. The microwave is brand new- as is the Kucht Dual fuel stove- gas top, electric oven. The refrigerator is also new. Please keep it clean. There are basic ingredients, salt and pepper, olive oil, and baking supplies, dishes. Guests bring ingredients, salad dressings, etc- and leave them. I choose not to throw perfectly good stuff out. If you don't want to use it- don't. All kitchen extras are provided for your convenience and not as part of your contractual relation with AirBnB or me. If there is an issue with cleanliness- contact me through the AirBnB app- and I will come clean (I'm on the street most of the time). Note, I can't inspect every utensil for water stains- etc. This disclaimer was added after someone called the kitchen "grimey" after all the others had given us outstanding marks for cleanliness. Outdated mustard isn't reason to cancel your stay. If you need B&W or color printing, or a conference room for up to 6 with projector etc- we have those at my office 6 houses down the street. We can accept packages for your conferences, etc. at my office. *note - this is a 100 year old home. Despite the huge feral cat population in South Park, on occasion, mice enter the home. We have traps if needed. Well-behaved pets are welcome if pre-arranged. There is a fenced yard. Please pick up your pup's poop so the yard is clean for mowing and for the next guest. Parking is on street, and I have cameras to watch your car., Guest access South Park is a very walkable neighborhood. Parking is not guaranteed in front- but, is available on the street. Other things to note The house has a standing seam metal roof. So if you don't like the pitter pat of the rain- which I love, this may not be for you. The skylight in the bedroom- means the sun comes in when it comes up. There is no blind.
