Nestled on the side of Massanutten Mountain The space Nestled on the side of Massanutten Mountain west of the Shenandoah Valley is our Hillside Haven. The secluded cabin and wooded property are perfectly situated to provide a relaxing getaway for you and your family. If you are looking to unwind by a fire, enjoy the peaceful outdoor sounds of the wind and trees, or explore all Shenandoah Valley has to offer, Hillside Haven is your escape. Enjoy the 3-acre forested lot, sit by the fire pit, or just relax in a cozy hammock on the large raised deck. Hillside Haven is located only minutes from several developed trails in the GW National Forest, including the Lion’s Tale Trail and Storybook Trail – a great introductory trail that rewards hikers with an unmatched view of the Shenandoah Valley. The main town of New Market is less than 10 minutes away, with a historical battlefield and museum, a small grocery store and General Store, local shops, antique stores, and restaurants including the delicious Jackson’s Coffee Shop. We are also conveniently located less than 20 minutes from the town of Luray, 30 minutes from both Bryce and Massanutten Four Season Resorts, 30 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, 15 minutes to the Shenandoah River, and 25 minutes from Shenandoah River Outfitters. There are wineries, breweries, and cider works up and down the Shenandoah Valley. The Space: Hillside Haven comfortably sleeps 2-6 people with a queen bed and crib in one room, twin over full bunkbed with a twin trundle bed in the other room, and a queen-sized pull out sofa. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary cooking utensils. There is a full size washer and dryer. We have both a wood burning fireplace and outdoor firepit, as well as a propane grill and propane fire pit on the large deck. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains.
