The space Welcome to Hillside Haven — your peaceful mountain retreat nestled on the side of Massanutten Mountain overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. 🌲🏔️ Set on a private 3-acre forested lot, this secluded cabin offers the kind of quiet that instantly slows your pace. Whether you’re gathered around the firepit under the stars 🔥, relaxing in a hammock on the raised deck, or listening to the wind move through the trees, Hillside Haven is designed for true unwinding. Inside, the cabin comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. One bedroom features a queen bed (with space for little ones, including a crib), while the second bedroom includes a twin-over-full bunk with a twin trundle — perfect for families or small groups. A queen sleeper sofa in the living room adds extra flexibility. Linens are provided, and the full bathroom keeps things simple and functional. The living area is centered around a wood-burning fireplace that adds warmth and mountain charm on cooler evenings. 🔥 While there’s no cable or satellite, the cabin offers WiFi, a TV, DVD player, and select board games — so you can stay connected if needed but still enjoy unplugged time together. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to cook comfortably — microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all necessary cooking utensils. A full-size washer and dryer make longer stays easy and practical. Window AC keeps things cool in warmer months, while electric heat warms the bedrooms and fireplace heat keeps the living space cozy. Step outside onto the large deck where you’ll find patio seating, a propane grill ready for cookouts 🍔, and a propane fire table for relaxing evenings with a glass of wine. 🍷 The outdoor campfire area is perfect for s’mores and storytelling beneath a Shenandoah sky full of stars. ✨ Location is where Hillside Haven truly shines. You’re just minutes from developed hiking trails in the George Washington National Forest, including Lion’s Tale Trail and the popular Storybook Trail — an ideal hike that rewards you with unmatched views of the Shenandoah Valley. 🥾 The Shenandoah River is only 15 minutes away, and Shenandoah River Outfitters is about 25 minutes for tubing, rafting, and kayaking adventures. 🛶 Historic New Market is less than 10 minutes from the cabin, where you’ll find the Civil War battlefield and museum, local shops, antique stores, and Jackson’s Coffee Shop for your morning caffeine fix. ☕ Luray is just 20 minutes away, Bryce and Massanutten Resorts are about 30 minutes, and the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park is also within a 30-minute drive. Wineries, breweries, and cideries are scattered throughout the valley for easy day trips. 🍷🍺 Because this is a mountain property, the final approach includes gravel and hard-packed roads typical of the area. Most vehicles access the cabin without issue when driven carefully, though winter weather may require additional traction. If you’re looking for bright city lights and crowded streets, this isn’t your place. Other things to note ✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $2500 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $59 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
