Description

AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER – We have significantly lowered our prices for the off-season. Please use part of the discount to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking. AirBnB Cancellations and Major Disruptive Events Policy excludes weather or natural conditions that are common enough to be foreseeable in a given location. Hurricanes are considered common and foreseeable in Florida between June and November, with peak activity typically occurring in August, September, and October. The space Charming 1 bedroom apartment with comfortable King size bed (100% cotton sheets) in the best possible location. The heart of Old Town Key West, two blocks from Simonton beach, the seaport, watersports and four blocks from Mallory Square. Walk everywhere, to the Historic Seaport, Hemingway House, The Little White House, bars, restaurants, sunset cruises, fishing charters. The relatively quiet Ann street is only one block to the famous Duval Street; coffee and organic breakfast on Green street You'll have the whole space to yourself, a king bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room with a separate, dedicated entrance. Your hosts will not be on the property. Guest access Three minutes from the gulf side ocean, everything in walking distance: water-sports, sunset sail, rentals, trolley, train, Duval-loop, museums, galleries, restaurants, and bars. Mallory Square 5 minutes walking distance, Duval street 1 block, the ocean 2 blocks. Keep in mind that given the location it might get noisy at certain times. Weekends, New-Years, Fantasy Fest, and Spring-Break aren’t for tranquility seekers! The roosters and chickens were left to roam free and now—a half-decade later—we have Gypsy Chickens that are free and happy … and noisy. Like in the 1970s, they are still protected. “…be forewarned while you may pay $$$ a night for that classy resort room, your alarm clock may be on the street below your room and go off at the oddest, most inconvenient time. Don’t be surprised if the waiter at your table is accompanied by a strutting rooster.” You may be lucky and find free parking on the street—one right in front of the house—but make sure to avoid “residential” without a permit! Otherwise, street and city parking is $5/hour+tax, overnight parking downtown ranges from $30 to $80 per day. We will send you a message with parking recommendations to help with picking the best available options. IMPORTANT! Please DO NOT leave golf carts and other vehicles next to the house, it is a loading zone for several apartments, security, cleaning, maintenance, and other vehicles! Other things to note Due to the abundant vegetation that surrounds the area, and the tropical climate, there is a possibility of bugs getting inside the house. The apartments are properly sealed and regularly sprayed with organic repellents however, flying termites and palmetto bugs (palm bug) may still get in. This activity is nearly undetectable however it greatly intensifies between April and June. Please be aware, this can be quite annoying before and during rain. Please avoid flying termites and mosquitoes getting in by simply closing the doors and windows after sunset and by reducing strong light. Blue light emitted by tablets and LED bulbs are irresistible to the airborne and they will sacrifice their lives to get in. Please turn off the four sets of 800+ lumen lights in the bathroom as they may find their way in through the ventilation if the lights are left on. Both unwanted visitors are completely harmless however, the tiny ones can be annoying in numbers and the palm bugs are big and scary, like oversized cockroaches. It is extremely unlikely that you’ll meet the second inside the apartment and to keep it that way, please keep the balcony and front door closed. To avoid contaminating our apartments with poisonous chemicals, please help by keeping all your food in the fridge and/or well sealed all the time. We—who live here—had several experiences of meeting unwanted visitors of all kinds, while you may never see them, they’re everywhere. Hordes of opossums, raccoons, iguanas, lizards, scorpions, spiders, happy and angry birds, and who knows what else. The area is very safe, you could freely sleep with doors open or leave the house unattended but the roommates you may end up with are better left outside. No parties, please respect your neighbors. Please avoid slamming the doors and noisy activities after 9 pm. Some of us come to party, others are here to relax. There is plenty of opportunities to have fun a couple of blocks away, when you're getting home, please lower the volume as you enter Ann street, this street is a quiet, residential street. To minimize even the possibility of exposure and the spread of COVID-19, we removed all extra pillows, blankets, etc. Please request before 6 pm if you need them.
