The space Welcome to your peaceful retreat at Oaks Rest – a well-equipped haven with the added luxury of a cottage garden, cosy cabin and traditional sauna. Inside, you'll find a spacious open-plan living and dining area, complete with a fully equipped kitchen (fridge freezer, oven, electric hob, kettle, microwave, toaster, and all the necessary utensils, cutlery, and glassware). Relax by the fireplace on the comfy sofa, enjoy Smart TV with access to Netflix, Prime, Disney+, and more, or explore our collection of books, magazines, and board games. The king-size bedroom features a wardrobe, dresser, mirrors, soft towels, and a second Smart TV for a relaxing wind-down. An en-suite shower room with towels and complimentary shower gels is also included for your comfort. Step outside into our large, shared mature garden, where you’ll find a peaceful seating area, outdoor dining table, and loungers – perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Tucked away in the garden is your wellness nook: a separate cabin housing a traditional sauna and games for you to use during your stay. It’s the perfect space to unwind, de-stress, and reconnect. The lodge backs onto the tranquil English Heritage-listed Bluebottle Grove, accessed directly via a secure gated slope from the garden. Discover scenic walks and open fields leading to Lexden Park – ideal for dog walks or leisurely strolls. Our quiet residential location ensures minimal road noise and wonderfully clean air, surrounded by ancient oak trees visible through large patio doors and windows. Keep an eye out for local wildlife – woodpeckers, jays, robins, bats, squirrels, foxes – and meet our friendly cats and rescue chickens. We welcome well-behaved small to medium-sized dogs, but please note we cannot accommodate larger pets due to our animals. Driveway parking is available during your stay to the front of the main house. We provide free overnight EV charging, with a MyEnergy Zappi charger. We have CCTV covering the front of the house and parking as well as by the chickens covering the back gate. Guest access Access is via a secure side gate of the main property. As well as the self contained accommodation you are welcome to use the lovely garden as your own during your stay. Feel free to say Hi to us, the cats and the chickens during your stay. Other things to note Direct access to Bluebottle Grove is via a slope, flat access is available in front of the house just 2 minutes walk down the road.
