This room is one of our three guest rooms. Guests in this room share a bathroom with the guest from another room. The common areas (kitchen and living room) are available to guests on a limited basis, keeping in mind that we live in the home and are sharing it with guests. The house was built in the 40s, and has been improved and added to a few times. Each guest room has a locking door for guest security. At times, the living room doubles as a music teaching studio. Your bedroom is off the kitchen, near a bathroom that is also used by the guest in another guest room. There is a keypad lock on your bedroom door for security. There is one parking space in the driveway for this room. We reserve a bit of fridge and freezer space for guest food. Guests are welcome to use the living room (except when Julie is teaching). We enjoy meeting our guests when schedules allow. We both come and go at irregular times, however, so sometimes we are unable to cross paths with our guests. We try to be available by text or phone. We have clearly written instructions for self check in. There are two grocery stores within 1 mile of our home. Additionally, there are several locally owned restaurants and at least one pub close to us. Glenwood Square, about 6 blocks away, is a repurposed fruit warehouse, housing some of those food businesses, as well as several boutique stores. Most of our guests arrive in their own vehicles. We have ample parking in our driveway (one space per guest room). Yakima also has Uber and taxi cabs, as well as a good bus system. The buses do not run past about 7 pm, however. We do allow pets, within reason. There is a $10 per pet cleaning fee. Pets cannot be left unattended in the premises. Each of the 3 guest rooms in our home has a lock on the door. Guests in this room share a bathroom with one guest from another small guest room.
